Intel Pentium 5405U

Az Intel Pentium 5405U egy ULV (ultra-alacsony feszültségű) kétmagos SoC, amely a Whiskey-Lake architektúrán alapszik, és 2019 januárjában került piacra. A CPU ultrabookokban és normális notebookokban egyaránt megtalálható. Két mag (Hyper-Threading, 2.3 GHz órajel, nincs Turbo Boost) mellett a chip egy HD Graphics 610 GPU-t is integrál, valamint egy kétcsatornás DDR4-2133/DDR3L-1600 memóriavezérlőt. Az SoC egy 14 nm-es eljárásban van gyártva FinFET tranzisztorokkal (14nm++). 

Architektúra

Az Intel alapvetően a Skylake-kel azonos mikroarchitektúrát használja, tehát a MHz-enkénti teljesítményben nincs különbség. A gyártó csak a Speed Shift technológiát dolgozta át a feszültségek és órajelek gyorsabb dinamikus szabályozásai érdekében, a korszerűsített 14 nm-es eljárás pedig jóval magasabb frekvenciákat és jobb hatékonyságot tesz lehetővé, mint azelőtt. A Kaby-Lake Refresh-hez képest a Whiskey Lake csak egy kicsivel jobb eljárást használ 14nm+-ról 14nm++-ra.

Teljesítmény

A régebbi, ugyanolyan órajelű Pentium Gold 4415U-hoz képest a teljesítmény várhatóan hasonló, vagyis belépőszintű. Ennek ellenére a CPU ereje elegendő az irodai és multimédiás felhasználásra, és valamivel nagyobb igényű alkalmazásokra is. A 12.5 wattos verzió csak 800 MHz-en fut, tehát jelentősen lassúbb.

Grafika

A HD Graphics 610 (a HD Graphics 510-hez hasonló) nevű grafikus egység a Whiskey Lake GPU (Intel Gen. 9) "GT1” verzióját képviseli. 12 végrehajtó egysége (Execution Units), amelyeket EU-nak is neveznek, 300 - 950 MHz közötti órajelen működnek, és valamivel a régebbi HD Graphics 4400 alatti teljesítményt kínálnak. Csak néhány 2018-as játékot lehet rajta simán játszani a legalacsonyabb beállításokon.

Energiafogyasztás

15 watt TDP-vel (beleértve a CPU-t, GPU-t és memóriavezérlőt), a CPU kisebb notebookok és ultrabookok (11 hüvelyk és felfele) számára a legalkalmasabb. Opcionálisan, a TDP 12.5 wattra (cTDP le) csökkenthető, ezáltal mind a hőleadás, mind pedig a teljesítmény (csak 800 MHz-en fut) csökken, és ez még kompaktabb dizájnokat tesz lehetővé.
