Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ (Plus)
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ (Plus) Mobile Platform egy csúcskategóriás okostelefon és táblagép SoC, amelyet a Qualcomm 2020 közepén mutatott be. Az SoC integrál egy gyors „Prime Core” magot, amelynek az órajele 3,1 GHz-ig terjed, és három további ARM Cortex-A77 teljesítménymagot, amelyek 2.42 GHz-et érhetnek el. Ezek kiegészülnek még négy energiatakarékos ARM Cortex-A55 maggal, amelyeknek az órajele eléri az 1.8 GHz-et. A régebbi Snapdragon 865-tel szemben itt a különbség a nagyobb órajelű Prime Core mag és a 10%-kal nagyobb órajelű GPU.
Így tehát a Snapdragon 865 az első helyet foglalja el az Androidos rendszerekhez készült mobil processzorok között. Bizonyos többmagos munkaterhelésekben az SD865+ eléri az Apple A13 SoC teljesítményszintjét is. Az egyszálas teljesítmény viszont még mindig az Apple SoC erőssége.
Előző generációkkal szemben a Snapdragon 865 és 865 Plus többé nem integrál LTE modemet, hanem az új X55 5G modemmel kell összekapcsolni, amely szintén támogatja az LTE Cat 24/22-t. A Wi-Fi modul viszont még mindig megtalálható, FastConnect 6800-nak hívják, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) és 8x8 MU-MIMU támogatással (60 GHz 802.11ay egészen 10 Gbps-ig). A Bluetooth 5.1 szintén támogatott, beleértve az aptX Adaptive-ot is.
Az integrált GPU még mindig Adreno 650 néven fut, teljesítménye pedig várhatóan 10%-kal nagyobb, mint az Adreno 650 a Snapdragon 865-ben (a magasabb órajelnek köszönhetően).
A fedélzeti Hexagon 698 DSP most 15 TOPS-ig terjedő (7 TOPS-ről a 855-ben) KI teljesítményt nyújt, és még mindig a CPU, GPU, HVX és Tensor magok kombinációját használja. A Spectra 480 ISP szintén változatlan. Az integrált Computer Vision Engine (CV-ISP) most Dolby Vision-t, 8K videókat és 200 megapixeles fotókat is támogat.
A beépített memóriavezérlő támogatja az LPDDR5 memóriát 2.750 MHz-ig, valamint LPDDR4X-et 2.133 MHz-ig.
A Snapdragon 855+ a TSMC-nél van gyártva az új javított 7 nm-es eljárással (N7P, DUV-alapú). Az eljárás 7%-kal nagyobb teljesítményt vagy 10%-al kisebb energiafogyasztást nyújt a régi N7-es eljáráshoz képest.
