Qualcomm SD 678

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 (SD678) egy középkategóriás ARM-alapú SoC, amely főként Android táblagépekben és okostelefonokban található. Ez 8 Kryo 460 nevű maggal rendelkezik (64-Bit képes), amelyek két klaszterre oszlanak. A gyors klaszter két magból áll, amelyek akár 2,2 GHz-es frekvenciával is működhetnek, és az ARM Cortex-A76 kialakításon alapulnak. És egy energiatakarékos hatékonysági klaszter akár 1,7 GHz-es és sokkal kisebb ARM Cortex-A55 magokon alapuló. Mindkét klaszter együtt is használható. A régi Snapdragon 675-höz képest a magok órajelét az A76 magok esetében 200 MHz-cel, az A55 magok esetében pedig 100 MHz-cel növelték.

A 8 CPU-mag mellett a SoC egy alsó középkategóriás Adreno 612 GPU-t, egy X12 LTE modemet akár 600 Mbps letöltési (Cat 12) és 150 Mbps feltöltési (Cat 13) sebességgel, egy 802.11ac (Wifi 5) Wave 2 WLAN modemet (akár 867 Mbps), egy Bluetooth 5.0 rádiót, műholdas helymeghatározást (GPS, QZSS, GLONASS, SBAS, Beidou és Galileo) és egy videomotort (akár 4k30 kódolás és H.265 támogatás, H.264, VP8 és VP9).

Teljesítmény

A régi Snapdragon 675-öshöz képest a 678-as csak kicsivel gyorsabb a benchmarkjainkban. A két gyors Cortex-A76 alapú magnak köszönhetően az SD678 egyes benchmarkokban még a régi csúcskategóriás Snapdragon 835 SoC-t is képes felülmúlni.

A Snapdragon 678 ugyanabban a 11 nm-es LPP (Low Power Plus) eljárással készül a Samsungnál, mint a 675, amely a 14 nm és a 10 nm kombinációja. A 14 nm-es LPP-hez képest a 11 nm-es LPP eljárás a Samsung szerint 15%-kal növelheti a teljesítményt és 10%-kal csökkentheti a chip méretét.
