A Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) egy jól felszerelt, középkategóriás okostelefon, amely prémiumnak néz ki és érződik, és IP68 minősítéssel is rendelkezik. A Super AMOLED Infinity Display kijelző lenyűgöző, jól kalibrált, világos és nagy felbontású. A Dual-SIM változat valóban Dual-SIM, dedikált microSD slottal, így nem kell választanunk a második SIM és a memóriakártya között. A szelfimániások egy jó optikával felszerelt előlapi kamerát kapnak, amely nem csak sokat tud, de jó képeket is csinál. Ez utóbbi a 16 MP-es fő kamerára is igaz.

Jó teljesítmény, megkérdőjelezhető áron. A Galaxy A8 (2018)-cal a Samsung szükségtelenül teremtett versenyhelyzetet saját maga számára, mivel a gyorsabb, és jobban felszerelt Galaxy S8 csak kb. 100 euróval kerül többe.

A pozitívumok ellenére várható, hogy a 499 eurós ajánlott fogyasztói ár elriaszt néhány lehetséges vevőt. Ugyan olcsóbban elérhető, de elég közel jár a Galaxy S8 árához, amely több funkciót és nagyobb teljesítményt kínál alig 100 euróval többért. A Galaxy A8 (2018)-nak vannak más, ugyanilyen gyors riválisai, mint például az ASUS ZenFone 4 ZE554KL vagy a BQ Aquaris X Pro, amelyek 450 és 350 euróba kerülnek.
