The feel of this laptop and the design doesn't scream basic - in fact some might be taken by that slightly more subtle design than some other gaming laptops. We also love the rear IO and the colour detail to the vents around the chassis - it looks great. We have high hopes for this laptop, but obviously haven't had the opportunity to test it to any degree. But with plentiful hardware options and a wide range of features on offer, the Lenovo LOQ could be a great choice for someone looking for a powerful PC that doesn't cost the earth.

That's not to mention how much lighter this machine is than some of the offerings we’ve seen this generation yet. Egyáltalán nem sikerült rosszul a LOQ 15, a Lenovo mérnökei ugyanis jó munkát végeztek, és jobbára ott spóroltak, ahol a megcélzott vásárlóközönség azt nem fogja nehezményezni. Igen, a burkolat műanyag, a GPU-kínálat csak RTX 4060-ig tart, és nincs RGB világítás a billentyűzeten, de ezekkel könnyű lesz együttélni. Problémát inkább az jelenthet, hogy ez a kijelző még az sRGB színtér esetében sem kínál 100 százalékos lefedettséget, így a tesztelt modell kicsit félkarú óriás: miközben játékra, irodai feladatokhoz nyugodt szívvel ajánlható, a gyenge színvisszaadás miatt a multimédiás feladatokba már beletörik a bicskája, de még a web böngészése, fényképnézegetés és youtube-ozás közben is kimaradunk a teljes élményből (szerencsére van a kínálatban 100%-os sRGB-vel rendelkező WQHD felbontású képernyő is).

Which is fine, as it’s not the laptop’s primary purpose, but when you do find yourself in such a situation, you’ll feel the pressure to get your work done more while using it. On the flip side, if there is a reason that this laptop stars in its own brand new series of gaming laptops rather than joining the Legion line, it is probably not due to its lack of gaming prowess.

Worth it, as the base display is undersaturated. The Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card? Absolutely. And unlike some other brands' upgrades, these ones are sensibly priced. The keyboard is great, as is the overall look and feel of the Lenovo LOQ 15. It just doesn't seem as cheap and basic as much of the competition. There's just one part I wish was better - the tone of the fan noise. As long as you're happy with this, the mediocre touchpad and lack of ultra-fast connectivity, it's a really great option.

In terms of pure gaming experience, you don’t really need an SD card slot, nor a Thunderbolt 4 port. However, you might want a MUX switch, and the LOQ 15 delivers in this department. EN→HUThere are things to like here and others that are much less compelling. What’s best about it is the CPU and GPU combination, which can deliver playable framerates on most modern titles at 1080p resolutions at a very attractive price point. And, if you connect an external monitor, it will work at 1440p with some adjustments in texture quality. However, to get the most from the CPU and discrete GPU requires power, and that’s the one part of this system that Lenovo curated, probably because of how heavy it was already. The 60Wh battery capacity doesn’t go far in gaming or playing video. And it won’t take the LOQ through a working day. That’s the typical reality of gaming laptops and the compromise that those who own them confront. However, the other thing that’s not great about this machine is entirely addressable, specifically the software detritus that Lenovo thickly applied to the Windows installation.

Where Lenovo’s previous gaming laptops were cheap but underpowered, the LOQ 15 delivers a stronger all-round spec in an attractive, affordable package. You can go cheaper by buying an RTX 4050 model, but this version hits the sweet spot between price and performance, giving you ample power for 1080p gaming without any serious compromises, but at a price point that’s closer to reasonable than ridiculous. There are some good machines hovering around this price point, with both the HP Victus 16 and Acer Nitro 5 giving strong bang for the buck. But, for my money, the LOQ 15 wins thanks to its better, brighter screen and its RTX 4060 spec. If you want to game without paying silly money, it’s an excellent buy.

With a starting price of about Rs 1,15,000, the new Lenovo LOQ 15 is a highly competitive gaming notebook. While the standard 1080p display is good enough though, I would rather have a higher resolution 1440p display at this size format. Despite not having premium aesthetics, I was pretty satisfied with the implementation as the laptop doesn’t look cheap and seems to justify the cost. Of course, it is bulkier than most modern gaming notebooks, and falls behind when it comes to battery life, which is something that most gaming laptops struggle with anyway. Other minor points of concern are the webcam and speakers, both of which are average. Competitors like the ASUS TUF Gaming A16, Dell G15 Gaming, and the new MSI Cyborg 15 with Intel’s new Core Ultra processors, are all viable options available in the same price range.

The optional GeForce RTX 4050 (Laptop) can offer a 2580MHz core clock after 30 minutes of gaming. That’s the highest frequency we’ve seen among all RTX 4050 that we have tested up to date. The 16:9 IPS display (AUO B156HAN15.K (AUO7EAD)) has good viewing angles and contrast ratio. The unit is also PWM-free and boasts 96% sRGB coverage. The designers who are looking to buy a machine at a decent price should be happy – the color accuracy reaches an average dE value of 1.2 with our “Design and Gaming” profile which is a great improvement compared to the 3.9 out-of-the-box result.
