Egyáltalán nem sikerült rosszul a LOQ 15, a Lenovo mérnökei ugyanis jó munkát végeztek, és jobbára ott spóroltak, ahol a megcélzott vásárlóközönség azt nem fogja nehezményezni. Igen, a burkolat műanyag, a GPU-kínálat csak RTX 4060-ig tart, és nincs RGB világítás a billentyűzeten, de ezekkel könnyű lesz együttélni. Problémát inkább az jelenthet, hogy ez a kijelző még az sRGB színtér esetében sem kínál 100 százalékos lefedettséget, így a tesztelt modell kicsit félkarú óriás: miközben játékra, irodai feladatokhoz nyugodt szívvel ajánlható, a gyenge színvisszaadás miatt a multimédiás feladatokba már beletörik a bicskája, de még a web böngészése, fényképnézegetés és youtube-ozás közben is kimaradunk a teljes élményből (szerencsére van a kínálatban 100%-os sRGB-vel rendelkező WQHD felbontású képernyő is).

The Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 has all the telltale signatures of a gaming laptop by the brand, even if it doesn’t come with the word Legion in its name. It looks recognisably from the brand, and it behaves in a similar fashion when under stress. Its lasting power while not plugged in is left wanting. Which is fine, as it’s not the laptop’s primary purpose, but when you do find yourself in such a situation, you’ll feel the pressure to get your work done more while using it. On the flip side, if there is a reason that this laptop stars in its own brand new series of gaming laptops rather than joining the Legion line, it is probably not due to its lack of gaming prowess.

90% Lenovo LOQ 15 review: A great value gaming laptop

The Lenovo LOQ 15 is an above average affordable gaming laptop, particularly if you fork out for some of the available upgrades. Lenovo’s 165Hz 1440p display? Worth it, as the base display is undersaturated. The Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card? Absolutely. And unlike some other brands' upgrades, these ones are sensibly priced. The keyboard is great, as is the overall look and feel of the Lenovo LOQ 15. It just doesn't seem as cheap and basic as much of the competition. There's just one part I wish was better - the tone of the fan noise. As long as you're happy with this, the mediocre touchpad and lack of ultra-fast connectivity, it's a really great option.

While it may be quite a jump from that original ‘starting from RM3,699’ price tag, the Lenovo LOQ 15 that we reviewed still isn’t that bad especially when you consider that its entry level gaming laptop rivals have been going up in price too. The new Acer Nitro 16 for instance with comparable specs (AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, RTX 4060) to the Lenovo LOQ 15 that we have here is priced at RM6,399. If we were to compare with what the Lenovo Malaysia website has on offer though, its RTX 4050-powered Lenovo LOQ 15 is still cheaper than the RTX 4050-powered Acer Nitro 16 that’s priced at RM5,799, though in both cases the Nitro 16 does have a taller 16-inch, 16:10 WQXGA display with the same 165Hz refresh rate.
