Az XPS 15 9560 jelenleg Core i5-7300HQ-val és Core i7-7700HQ-val felszerelt változatokban kapható, hasonlóan ahhoz, ahogyan az XPS 15 9575 a Core i5-8305G-vel és Core i7-8705G-vel. Míg azonban az i5-7300HQ - i7-7700HQ ugrás 40% teljesítménynövekedést is jelenthet, az i5-8305G és i7-8705G között csak 5-10 százalék van. Ha az XPS 15 9575 i5-ös és i7-es konfigjai közti masszív árkülönbséget ($1300 USD helyett $2200 USD) is figyelembe vesszük, egyértelművé válik, hogy ha az ár/teljesítmény arány számít, akkor a Core i7 nem éri meg.

A Dell az árkülönbséget több RAM-mal és egy nagyobb felbontású panellel próbálja igazolni, amely jelenleg csak a Core i7-es konfigurációval elérhető. Sokat multitaskoló, érintőkijelzőt és stylust kihasználó, valamint videókat szerkesztő felhasználók fogják értékelni a 16 GB RAM-ot, és a 4K UHD panelt, nem annyira az otthoni felhasználók. Ettől még kissé kiábrándító, hogy a jelenlegi Core i5-ös változatok csak 8 GB RAM-ot kapnak.

A fenti különbségeket leszámítva a Core i5-ös XPS 15 9575-tel kapcsolatos meglátásaink itt is megállják helyüket. A Kaby Lake-G kitűnő alternatívának bizonyult az elterjedtebb Core i7-7700HQ-nál, valamint GTX 1050/1050 Ti-nál, amelyek általában a rivális notebookokban megtalálhatók. A Dell gépe még energiatakarékosabb, és hűvösebb, mint az említett készülékek, és csendesebb az XPS 15 9560-nál. Tehát, amíg tisztában vagyunk a hiányosságaival, a többi 15 colos átalakítható az XPS 15 9575 közelébe sem érhet, leszámítva a közelgő 2018-as HP Spectre x360 15-öt.

Nem szükséges 2200 dollárt költeni a Core i7-8705G-s változatra, mivel a Core i5-8705G csak kicsivel olcsóbb, mindezt majdnem 1000 dollárral kevesebbért. Még az XPS 15 9575 legolcsóbb konfigurációja is majdnem olyan erős, mint a drágább XPS 15 9575 vagy XPS 9560.
