In review: Eurocom Tornado F5 Killer Edition. Test model provided by Eurocom

A Tornado F5 elismerést érdemelne azért, mert egy LGA 1151 foglalatot és egy MXM 3.0 bővítőhelyet be tudott építeni egy olyan 15 inches házba, amely sok népszerű, de kevésbé erős vetélytársénál kisebb és könnyebb. Ebből a szempontból hasonlít a Razer Blade Pro-ra: gigahardver a lehető legkompaktabb házban. Az, hogy emellett komolyabb lefojtást nem tapasztaltunk, és nem találtunk a teljesítményre közvetlenül ható rejtett gyengeségeket, ugyancsak figyelemre méltó teljesítmény.

A szokásos hátrányok megvannak, úgymint a hangos ventilátorok és gyenge üzemidő. Míg ezek egyike sem meglepő, úgy véljük, hogy a zajt alacsonyabb terhelésen csökkenteni lehetne, és így a notebook nem tűnne feltűnően zajosnak csendes környezetben. A fedél könnyebben elhajlik, mint ahogyan azt egészségesnek tartanánk, és a háttérfényszivárgással is lehetne kezdeni valamit.

A 4K UHD kijelző mellett és ellen is szólnak érvek, így nem "mindenképpen ajánlott" opció. A színlefedettség szűkebb és a kontraszt alacsonyabb még az alap 1080p opciónál is. Ezeken kívül a harmadik, 1080p 120 Hz/5 ms kijelző is szóba jöhet, mivel a gyors válaszidő és a kétszer akkora frissítési gyakoriság komoly fegyvertény a játékos noteszgépek esetében, jó eséllyel többet ér, mint a 4K UHD 60 Hz panel.

Talán a legfontosabb érv a Eurocom mellett, egy Asus-szal, MSI-vel, vagy Alienware-rel szemben az, hogy modulrendszerű, és az asztali processzorokat is támogatja. A CPU és GPU egyszerű cserélhetősége kétségtelenül vonzó lehetőség, de a játékos teljesítményre gyakorolt hatása elenyésző, mivel a legtöbb modern játék GPU-függő. Ha egy mobil i7-7700HQ ugyanolyan jól képes futtatni a legtöbb játékot, mint egy i5-7600K vagy i7-7700K, majdnem a fele hőtermeléssel, akkor tisztán játékos szemszögből kevésbé látszik a gyakorlati előnye annak, hogy asztali processzort raktak egy laptopba.

A Tornado F5 a legsokoldalúbb 15 inches gaming noteszgép, amennyiben az LGA 1151 foglalatot és az MXM 3.0 bővítőhelyet létfontosságúnak ítéljük. Egyébként egy hagyományosabb, az ekvivalens mobil GPU-val felszerelt notebook ugyanerre a játékteljesítményre képes, és mindezt valószínűleg kevesebbért.
