Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

A GL702VM képében az Asus egy viszonylag karcsú 17.3 inches gaming noteszgépet kínál. A vékony külső azonban megtévesztő: a laptopba komoly erő szorult. A négymagos  i7-es processzor, és az Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 videokártyája olyan párost alkot, amely minden mai játékot Full HD felbontásban, és magas-maximális részletességen képes futtatni. Az Nvidia G-Sync technológiája gondoskodik a kép simaságáról. Az erős hardver ellenére sikerült kordában tartani a melegedést, és a noteszgép zajszintje is elfogadható.

A GL702VM-mel az Asus egy stabil 17.3 inches gaming notebookot tett le az asztalra.

Az 1TB-os merevlemeznek köszönhetően nem szűkölködik tárhelyben, bár ki is lehet cserélni, ha szükséges. Ehhez le kell szedni a burkolat alsó részét, arra is lehetőséget kapva, hogy egy M.2-SSD-t (SATA vagy NVMe) pakoljunk a laptopba, mivel erre van még egy szabad hely. A matt IPS kijelző stabil betekintéssel, és elegendő fényerővel kényeztet. A kontraszt lehetne magasabb. A beépített billentyűzet alkalmas otthoni használatra. Amennyiben viszont sokat gépelünk, célszerű más modellt beszerezni. Mivel az integrált GPU-t kikapcsolták, az alapjárati fogyasztása magasabb lett. Ennek következtében az akku üzemideje rövidebb, mint lehetne. Ez azonban másodlagos, ha játékra választ laptopot az ember.
