Sokaknak a HP-ről üzleti és irodai notebookok jutnak eszükbe, de az Omen a HP gamer laptop szériája. Teszt modellünk, az Omen 17-w110ng is megfelel kategóriája elvárásainak. A felhasználók erős CPU/GPU kombinációt kapnak egy stílusos házban, de ez csak műanyagból készült, és nincs benne optikai meghajtó. Azért ez utóbbi hiányosság nem olyan elrettentő, figyelembe véve, hogy Steamről és egyéb játékplatformokról letölthetők a játékok.

A port választék kissé kérdéses, mert csak három USB 3.0 port van a gépben. Legalább egy  USB 3.1 Gen.2 port egy C-típusú csatlakozóval elvárható lenne. A HP-nek ezen felül érdemes lenne valamit kezdenie a beviteli eszközökkel. Konkrétan a touchpadról van szó, amely az árkategóriához képest olcsónak néz ki. A méretei sem tökéletesek, mert a magassága csak 6,5 cm (~2.6 in), amely nem túl sok.

Mindent figyelembe véve a HP Omen 17-w110ng jó ajánlat ennyiért. A játékteljesítményben nincs mit kritizálni. A laptop remekül dolgozik, és lehetővé teszi a játékok korlátok nélküli élvezetét.

A teljes csomag igen meggyőző az említett hiányosságok ellenére is. A teljesítménye kiváló, az eszközt - a tesztünkből is láthatóan - játékra tervezték. Az Intel gyors Core i7-6700HQ-ja elégséges teljesítményt ad minden alkalmazáshoz, és még a húzósabb igényű játékokat is FHD-ben (néha még 4K-ban is) futtathatók a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070-nek hála. Az ára is vonzó, 1800 euró (~$2007). A versenytársak hasonló gépei gyakran 2000-2500 euróba kerülnek (~$2230-$2787), tehát a HP Omen szériája mindenképpen igen előnyös választás lehet.
