A GL702VSK a kompromisszumok gyermeke. Mindent egyszerre próbál elérni azzal, hogy erős komponenseket zsúfol össze egy kompakt házba. Míg a laptop így egyértelműen jobban hordozható, mint más 17.3 inches szörnyetegek, a teljesítmény és a hőmenedzsment sínyli meg ezt. Ez szomorú, mivel a gép egyébként kiváló lenne. A billentyűzet jó, és kellemes gépelni rajta, a csatlakozóválaszték remek, és az eszköz viszonylag könnyű és vékony. Az, hogy a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 és 120 Hz G-Sync kijelző is került bele, fantasztikusan sima játékmenetet és abszolút gyönyörű megjelenítést jelent. Az általunk tesztelt konfiguráció viszonylag alacsony ára (~$1700 USD) még vonzóbbá teszi. Ritkán kapunk ekkora teljesítményt ilyen kevés pénzért.

A melegedés agyonüti a GL702VSK-t. Az alulméretezett hűtés, és hőmenedzsment miatt a CPU és GPU hamar visszafojtja magát, a gép nem tudja ezt kezelni. Komolyabb hűtésre lenne szükség, de az megnövelte volna a készülék méretét és tömegét is.

A  GL702VSK célja, hogy elég erős legyen a gamereknek, de ne szakadjon le a válluk, amikor cipelni kell. Ezt a célt pedig határozottan sikerült elérni. Míg nyers erőben nem nyújt annyit, mint a versenytársak, a többiek vastagabbak, nehezebbek, kevésbé hordozhatók. Vannak más opciók is kompakt gaming notebook beszerzésére, de azok viszont többnyire kisebb kijelzővel járnak, így kevésbé látványosak.

A hőkezelési problémák ellenére az Asus telibe találta a célját a GL702VSK-vel. A gép kiváló játékélményt nyújt Full HD-ban anélkül, hogy az összes megtakarításunkat ki kellene adni érte; emiatt az Asus GL702VSK-t ajánlani tudjuk azoknak, akik egy erős, de hordozható gaming gépet keresnek.
