Ha választanunk kellene a ROG Zephyrus GX501VI (GTX 1080 Max-Q) és a ROG Zephyrus M GM501GS (GeForce GTX 1070) között, mi éppenséggel az utóbbit választanánk. Ugyan GM501 jelentősen zajosabb 3D alkalmazások futtatása közben, de sokkal olcsóbb, és majdnem ugyanazt a játékteljesítményt nyújtja, érzéseink szerint jobb beviteli eszközökkel. A kontrasztos, G-Sync-es, 144 Hz-es kijelző, valamint az opcionális váltható grafikus rendszer is erős érvek a megvétele mellett.    

Sajnos a GM501 az Optimus technológiával sem képes hosszú üzemidő elérésére. Ehhez egy nagyobb telep kellene. Ennek megfelelően, ebben az Aero 15X marad a csúcstartó a 15 inches, mobilis csúcsnotebookok között. Az Acer rivális (Predator Triton 700) modellje, és a MSI's GS63VR viszont simán utolérhető a Zephyrus M-mel. Gyakran utazó gamerek, akik emellé jó teljesítményt, karcsú, kényelmesen könnyű és menőn kinéző gépet keresnek, valószínűleg elégedettek lesznek a GM501-gyel.

Az Intel hatmagos architektúrája, amelyet most először teszteltünk mobil eszközben, többmagos feladatok esetében masszív teljesítménynövekedést garantál. Erre már nagy szükség is volt az AMD hat- és nyolcmagos Ryzen-jei után. Ahogy azt mondani szokták: a kompetíció jót tesz az üzletnek.

Amúgy nemsokára készen lesznek az új MSI GS65, és a frissített Gigabyte Aero 15X (mindkettő Coffee Lake alapon) tesztjei is - így valószínűleg erős vetélytársakat kap a Zephyrus M.
