Az Aorus X5 v8 2018-as verziója a legtöbb téren megállja helyét a riválisokkal szemben. Nem csak a robusztus fém ház, de a csatlakozók, beviteli eszközök és a kijelző is meggyőzően teljesítettek. A 144 Hz-es IPS panel tökéletes egyensúlyt teremt sebesség és képminőség között (a kulcsszó: X-Rite Pantone).

A z egyik legnagyobb probléma vele a zaj- és hőkibocsátás, de ez sok vékony gamer gép közös hibája. Összességében az X5 v8-at az Asus GM501-gyel tennénk egy szintre, amellyel nagyon hasonló teljesítményre képesek.

A legerősebb ellenfél azonban házon belülről érkezik. Azok, akiknek a G-Sync nem olyan fontos, és a pár FPS veszteség nem gond, lehet, hogy jobban járnak az Aero 15X-szel. A 15 colos testvér kompaktabb és könnyebb, sokkal jobb az üzemideje, arról nem is szólva, hogy olcsóbb is (2500 a 2700 euró helyett, ~$2926 a ~$3161 helyett).
