Az egyik legfontosabb érv amellett, hogy egyenesen Kínából rendeljünk valamilyen készüléket, általában az alacsony ár. Mivel ez a notebook még nem kapható Kínán kívül, ezért egy sor akadályt kell leküzdenünk a beszerzésekor. Az első az a tény, hogy a döntést értékelések alapján kell meghoznunk, mivel nem tudjuk kézbe venni a készüléket a szomszéd szakboltban. A minőségről annyit elmondhatunk, hogy az általunk tesztelt példány esetében ez több, mint elfogadható volt. Azt viszont mindenképpen érdemes szem előtt tartanunk, hogy a szállítással, vámmal, mindennel együtt a végére a termék valószínűleg jóval drágább lesz az alap áránál, és ha garanciaigényünket próbáljuk érvényesíteni a világ túlfeléről, az könnyen rémálomba fordulhat. Ha pedig a készüléket megvettük, kifizettük, és megérkezett, szembesülünk a kínai Windows-szal, amelyet le kell cserélnünk egy angol verzióra, ha véletlenül nem értünk kínaiul.

Összességében, az MX150-nel felszerelt Mi Notebook Air elég jó gép. A vékony és kompakt ház ellenére képes rövid időkre nagy CPU teljesítményt mutatni, a GPU meg több mai játékot is elbír.

Sajnos a hő- és a zajszint terhelés alatt túl magas volt, a Mi Notebook Air határozottan jobban járt volna egy új, áttervezett házzal. A magas burkolathőmérséklet, lefojtás, és a CPU hamar bekövetkező teljesítményesései egyértelműen jelezték, hogy a ház és hűtés nem bír az erős alkatrészekkel. Az, hogy a 10 W-os, MX150-es konfigot választottuk, szintén nem sokat segített a helyzeten, ha nagyobb teljesítményre vágyunk, a 15 inches modell jobb választás lehet.

A világos, 13 inches kijelző nagyon jól teljesített, bár designjából adódóan kültéren erősen tükröződött. Azok, akik a notebookot főleg helyhez kötve, külső kijelzővel tervezik használni, jobb ha szem előtt tartják a HDMI port 30 Hz-es korlátját. Eközben viszont az USB-C port, amely 60 Hz-et támogat, valószínűleg éppen a hálózatra lesz dugva. Az üzemidő átlag alatti, és nagyjából egy szinten van elődjéével.

Ebben az árfekvésben, más 13 inchesek, amelyek MX150-est kaptak, ritkák, ez teszi ezt a gépet sokkal érdekesebbé. A Lenovo IdeaPad 320S (13 inch, Core i5-8250U) jelentősen lassabb volt minden GPU és CPU benchmark tesztben, a HP Envy 13 pedig ugyan lépést tudott tartani az Air GPU teljesítményével (szintén MX150 GPU), lemaradt az öregebb kétmagos Core i7-7500U CPU miatt, és 32%-kal alacsonyabb pontszámot kapott a Cinebench többmagos tesztjében. A PCMark pontszámaik viszont hasonlóak voltak. Ugyanakkor az Intel 7. generációs CPU-ja öregecske már 2018-ban.

Azaz, ha megfizethető, és valamennyire játék-képes 13 inches subnotebookot keresünk, és nem rettent el az esetleg kalandos import Kínából, úgy a Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air tökéletes beszerzés lehet. Ennek ellenére a leendő vevőknek azt tanácsoljuk, hogy a 15 inches Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro-ra (Core i5-8250U, GeForce MX150) is vessenek egy pillantást, mivel annak sokkal jobb hűtése van.
