A Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 720 válasz a Surface Pro 4-re, főleg, mivel a 3: 2-es képarány azonos, és a képernyőfelbontás (2736x1824 a Surface, 2880x1920 a Miix 720 esetében) is majdnem ugyanannyi. Kijelző terén nincs okunk panaszra, esetleg a színlefedettséget említhetnénk meg, de ez már szőrszálhasogatás volna.

A Miix előnye a csatlakozóválaszték: 2x nagy USB-A 3.0, USB-C Gen2 Thunderbolt 3-mal, valamint infrakamera a Windows Hello-hoz. A lelke egy Kaby Lake processzor, valamint egy nagy RAID-SSD, amely igen gyors.

Sajnos a Miix 720 nem képes a lapkakészlet teljes teljesítményét kiaknázni, 10%-a elvész tartós terhelés esetén, mindennapi feladatok elvégzése során is. Ez azt jelenti, hogy az i7-tel felszerelt Surface Pro 4-gyel egy szinten van a teljesítménye. Még sokkal olcsóbb modelleknek, mint például az Aspire Switch Alpha 12 (i5) Skylake lapkakészletei is gyorsabbak lehetnek, vagy legalábbis tudnak ennyit.

A Switch Alpha 12, i5-ös processzorral már 750 eurótól (~$815), a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 + Type Cover (i5-6300U) pedig 1200 eurótól (~$1304) elérhető. A kérdés: miért a Miix 720-at válasszuk, amikor a processzor teljesítménye elmarad a várttól?

A Miix 720 ugyanis egyáltalán nem olcsó: A 7500U-val, 16 GB RAM-mal, és 1 TB SSD-vel felszerelt verzió 1700 euróba ($1845) kerül. Akik számára a mobilitás a legfontosabb, azoknak viszont a kisebb, 256 vagy 128 GB-os SSD-vel, valamint Core i3 vagy i5 7200U-val felszerelt változat is elegendő lehet. Ezek 1070 eurótól (~$1162) indulnak.

A kisebb variáns elegendő ahhoz, hogy kiélvezhessük a Thunderbolt 3 által nyújtott dokkolási lehetőséget, a hosszú üzemidőt, a remek kijelzőt, az infrakamerát Windows Hello-val, valamint a kiváló (megvilágított) billentyűzetet. Az ára pedig hamarosan 900 euró (~$978) alá mehet az i3-as verziónak, amellyel már versenyképes lehet.
