Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

A Gram 13 a többi notebookhoz képest egyedi előnyökkel és hátrányokkal rendelkezik. Mellette szól, hogy a kijelző gyárilag színhűbb, mint sok másik ultrabooknak, és az üzemideje meglepően hosszú. Az utóbbi különösen figyelemre méltó, mivel a nehezebb XPS 13 és Spectre 13 is kevesebbet bír. A Samsung NP900X3N-nel szemben az LG bizonyította, hogy az üzemidőnek nem feltétlenül kell megszenvednie a pehelysúlyú kivitelt.

A pozitívumok mellé rakva a negatívumokat, nehéz az utóbbiakat figyelmen kívül hagyni. A fedél messze túl sérülékeny és hajlékony, főleg érintőkijelzőhöz képest. A konfigok nagyon korlátozott száma miatt pedig a Gram 13 kevésbé életképesnek tűnik, mint más népszerű ultrabookok. Az XPS 13, a Samsung NP900X3N, és a Spectre 13 kapható Intel Iris-es, 4K, GeForce MX150-es, vagy Thunderbolt 3-as változatokban, a  Gram 13 ezzel szemben egyiket sem mondhatja el magáról. Ez egy eléggé fapados LG, mivel a felhasználóknak a teljesítményből és funkciókból kell áldoznia a hordozhatóság és tömeg jegyében.

Az olyan alap tulajdonságok, mint a ház stabilitása, billentyűzet és trackpad visszajelzés, valamint fényerő épphogy átlagosak, ha ugyan nem maradnak kicsivel a riválisok alatt. Akármilyen könnyű is a Gram 13, nem biztos, hogy ez a legjobb kültéri megoldás, mivel világosabb és strapabíróbb ultrabookok is kaphatók ebben az árfekvésben.

Ha a kültéri láthatóság létfontosságú, akkor a Samsung Notebook 9 NP900X3N jelentősen világosabb, ugyanakkor könnyebb is, mint az LG. Kis tömege, hosszú üzemideje és két M.2 csatolója a fő előnyei a Gram 13-nak a riválisai nagy részével szemben. Ezt leszámítva a lecsupaszított rendszer semmi érdekessel, vagy nélkülözhetetlennel nem kompenzálja az 1200 USD-os kezdőárat.
