AMD Windows Notebook

Szuper lassú, szuper olcsó. Amennyiben az első benyomás a döntő, úgy az AMD nagy bajban van. A legújabb Bristol Ridge notebook elég jó GPU-t kombinált egy messze átlag alatti CPU-val, egy nagyon kiegyensúlyozatlan rendszert létrehozva.

Az A12-9720P APU jól megmutatja, hogy mennyivel volt lemaradva az AMD CPU-k terén a Ryzen és a Zen architektúra megjelenése előtt. Általában, ha egy processzor erősebben melegszik, és a gép hangosabb, azt várjuk hogy gyorsabb is. Ez nem így van az A12-9720P esetében, mivel forróbb, zajosabb, és lassabb rendszer lesz belőle, mint a két generációval ezelőtti Core i3-5010U-ból. A programok lassan indulnak, és lassan települnek, még egy HDD-alapú rendszerhez képest is.

A GPU-t megnézve viszont arra jutottunk, hogy a Radeon R7 M340 éppenséggel nem is rossz, hiszen nyers erőben majdnem utoléri a GTX 950M-et. A fő probléma, hogy egy nagyon lassú CPU-val van összeláncolva, amely a valós játékteljesítményt jelentősen lassabbra rontja, mint amit a GTX 950M-es notebook tudnak. Ez a szűk keresztmetszete a Pavilion 17z teljesítményének, és megakadályozza, hogy olcsó-középkategóriás gaming gépként tekintsünk rá, és gyakorlatilag feleslegessé teszi az R7 M340-et. Ez a GPU így ugyanis csak a fogyasztást és melegedést növeli, az üzemidőt csökkenti, és eközben messze nem lehet kiaknázni teljes teljesítményét. Egyszerűbben: a Ryzen-es notebookoknak már régen meg kellett volna jelennie.

Az AMD-vel kapcsolatos panaszainkat leszámítva a Pavilion 17z elég jó hardverrel van felszerelve, ha nem is lenyűgözővel, de ez az árból is következik. A színek és kontraszt az árhoz képest kiválóak, de nagyjából minden más átlag alatti a gépben, ide értve a szemcsés panelt és a ház minőségét is.

Azt kapjuk, amit kifizettünk. Az AMD-alapú Pavilion 17z valóban olcsóbb Intel-es párjainál, de a teljesítmény és üzemidő sokkal rosszabb hozzájuk képest.
