Mivel a rekord üzemidőt a bevezetőben ellőttem, elég hozzátenni az összefoglalóban, hogy több az X8 Pro Max okos akkubanknál. Az Galaxy S26-ot megszégyenítő csúcskijelzőt kínál kitűnő összeszereléssel, remek sebességgel, temérdek tárhellyel, összeszedett HyperOS felülettel és villámgyors töltéssel. Az idegesítő, de melóval elkerülhető reklámokat leszámítva nyerő a kombináció egyetlen, borítékolható kompromisszummal: a 180 ezres indításhoz a kamerákból áldozni kellett. Annyi baj legyen, mert ha a fotózás a vásárlói fókusz, ott a Xiaomi 15T Pro kisebb teleppel. A Pro Max az a készülék, ami kerekké teszi a Xiaomi hazai termékpalettáját, mert eddig hiányzott egy olyan modell, amelyik elhozza a kínai akkumulátor-Kánaánt. Világos a felosztás: olcsó vonalon ott a Poco M, a középkategóriás hardvercsatában a Redmi Note, a Poco X és a Poco F, megengedhető kamerabajnoknak a Xiaomi T és versenyképes zászlóshajónak a kis vagy nagy Xiaomi 17. Az elmúlt időszakban szinte mindig jól árazott a Xiaomi, és így lehet piacot nyerni, ez persze nehezen tartható a memóriaárak által generált nyomás alatt. Ma mindenesetre az a helyzet 200 ezer forint környékén, hogy ha fotós mobil kell, Xiaomi T, ha pedig üzemidőbajnok, a Poco X vonalon érhető el a piac egyik legtutibb ajánlata. Ezt pedig annak ellenére is egy kövérebb plecsnivel jutalmazzuk, hogy a felületen szinte véletlenszerűen felbukkanó hirdetések biztos sokakat zavarnak, de akit már nagyon zavar, az ki tudja ezeket kapcsolni az erről szóló videónk útmutatásait követve.

It’s really only held back by the lack of a telephoto lens and truly adaptive refresh rates for movie buffs and bookworms. If those quirks don’t bother you, this is an absolute must. And if you want even more performance and a telephoto lens wrapped in a unique denim look, there’s still the (most expensive) Poco F8 Ultra. You won’t find the X8 Pro Max’s massive battery tucked away in those jeans, though.

So, should you buy the POCO X8 Pro Max? Honestly, yes. If you want the best performance possible at an unbelievably low price, the POCO X8 Pro Max is the phone that you should get. That MediaTek Dimensity 9500s is still a truly amazing chipset despite a generation old and still using the old but mature CPU and GPU architecture. However, you do have one alternative – the Xiaomi 15T Pro. It’s equipped with the Dimensity 9400+, and the performance is about the same as the POCO X8 Pro Max, has much better cameras and also an optical telephoto camera, but a smaller battery. The price is definitely higher, but I do think the Xiaomi 15T Pro is worth the price premium if you need better cameras. I truly love the performance of the POCO X8 Pro Max. For the price, it’s really a no-brainer even though when there are definitely some shortcomings here and there to make the price possible.

To put it to perspective, POCO’s X-Series has always been about delivering the best value for money in the sub-Php20,000 price range. I wonder what will happen now for the base POCO F8 model…? If it ever comes out that is. But if POCO is able to keep the prices low for the POCO X8 Series just like what they did with the F8 Series, then it’s gonna be easily one of this year’s most compelling options. Period.

The POCO X8 Pro Max has been competitively priced in India for the specifications it offers. The handset is built to deliver top-tier performance and battery life in a package that remains surprisingly manageable. However, it won’t be an easy run, especially against rivals like the iQOO 15R, which is also a performance-oriented smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, stable 144fps gaming support, and a sizeable 7,600mAh battery paired with 100W charging. On paper, the POCO smartphone does appear to be the more compelling option. However, we’d recommend holding off on a purchase decision until our full review is out, where we’ll take a closer look at its real-world performance, camera capabilities, and long-term usability.

As the first Max in the series, it comfortably lives up to its name, offering a big and beautiful display, outsized performance, and epic stamina from a ginormous battery – albeit with a correspondingly inflated price. It’s a shame the cameras didn’t receive a smidgen of this Max love, even if we fully accept that this isn’t traditionally a priority for the Poco brand. The software, too, continues to be a weak point for Poco, as it is for the wider Xiaomi family. Still, if you have less than £500 to spend on your next phone and you want to go as big and fast as possible, buying the Poco X8 Pro Max would be a power move that we fully endorse.

At a starting price of just $429 (for early bird buyers), I can definitely recommend the Poco X8 Pro Max. The phone offers such a great package for the price that you should at least consider it. Granted, the camera system is not on par with big and expensive camera phones, even though the main sensor gets the job done. And the lack of wireless charging might be a serious dealbreaker for some. But the stellar battery life, the bright screen, the fast processor, and the overall pleasant design more than make up for the sacrifices Poco made to arrive at the aforementioned price.
