Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

A GT75VR összességében vegyes benyomást keltett. Először a pozitívumok: a GT73VR-rel összehasonlítva az MSI sok dolgon javított. Emiatt nem csak a hang, hanem a billentyűzet is remek pontszámot kapott.

Amennyiben a szokatlan kiosztást és a hangos gépelést nem vesszük figyelembe, a SteelSeries billentyűzet zseniális. Ha egyszer kipróbáltuk, utána biztosan nem akarunk egy hagyományos billentyűzetre visszatérni. Az váltás körülbelül olyannak érződik, mint amikor a HDD-t SSD-re cseréljük.

A GT73VR már amúgy is meggyőző részei különösebb variálás nélkül átkerültek. Például a remek karbantartási/bővítési lehetőségek (4x RAM, 4 háttértár hely, kivehető GPU, stb.), a változatos csatlakozók (Thunderbolt 3 port is), vagy éppen a kiváló válaszidejű, színhű, G-Sync képes 120 Hz-es panel.

Sajnos - néha érthetetlen módon - visszalépések is történtek. Miért kellett gumírozni a touchpad-et (az ujj akadozik rajta)? A 3D módban tapasztalt extrém zaj pedig a vastagabb és nehezebb ház ellenére erősebb, mint a GT73VR esetében volt. Akit ez a hangerő zavar, az inkább kerülje el a GT75VR-et. Ugyanez igaz azokra, akik gyakran utaznak, és nem akarják állandóan újraindítani a gépet, h a Nvidia kártya helyett az Intel videochipet használhassák, és hosszabb üzemidőt nyerjenek.

A 17 inches gép még mindig egy asztali gép helyettesítő, amelynek tényleg tartósan egy asztalon van a helye.

Az Asus ROG Zeyphrus GX501 például bizonyíték rá, hogy vékonyabb és könnyebb laptopot is lehet készíteni (némileg kisebb teljesítménnyel). Akiknek viszont az ormótlan ház nem probléma, az Acer Predator 17 X, az Alienware 17 R4, az Asus G701VIK vagy a Schenker XMG U727 is éppen ilyen jó választás lehet. A tesztek során hasonló eredményeket ( 85-88%) értek el, viszont nincs bennük mechanikus billentyűzet.
