Akinek viszont egy jóval régebbi üzleti laptopja van, annak ez most egy nagyszerű alkalom, hogy felfigyeljen az átalakítható ThinkPad-re. Bőséges portválaszték, hosszú üzemidő, kényelmes billentyűzet, integrált érintőceruza, opcionális WAN, és könnyű súly szól amellett, hogy majdnem tökéletesnek számít az útközbeni szövegszerkesztésre és üzleti munkára.

Azért mondjuk, hogy „majdnem tökéletes”, mert a rendszernek van két nagy hátránya. Az egyik a kijelző fényereje, mivel a 300 nites panel fele olyan élénk, mint más Dell, Apple, Samsung, vagy HP zászlóshajóké. Erős szemmeresztésre kell számítania annak, aki a rendszert kültéri használatra is tervezi. A Lenovo egy élénkebb 500 nites opciót is kínál, amely viszont drágább. Másodsorban, a GPU teljesítménye elég fakó. Nem várunk csúcsteljesítményt egy üzleti átalakítható géptől, de az UHD Graphics 620 elavultnak számít az AMD Ryzen és Ice Lake alternatívákkal szemben. A jövőbeni modelleknél szeretnénk látni Wi-Fi 6-ot, 600-tól 1000 nitig terjedő panel opciókat, kisebb alsó kereteket, egy vastagabb érintőceruzát a könnyebb foghatóságért, AMD Ryzen 4000U opciókat, és akár egy 16:10-es kijelzőt is. Ha ezek a jellemzők meglennének, könnyebben ajánlanánk a ThinkPad X1 Yoga-t a versenytársakkal szemben ebben a 2000 dolláros árkategóriában.

A Core i7-8565U és Core i7-10510U modellek közötti teljesítmény-különbség minimális, ami azt jelenti, hogy a 2019-es modellel többszáz dollárt takaríthatunk meg anélkül, hogy túl sok CPU erőt áldoznánk fel. Ahhoz, hogy a legtöbbet kihozhassuk a legújabb modellből, érdemes megfontolni a magasabb kategóriás Core i7-10710U-t vagy az élénkebb 500 nites 4K UHD opciót.
