Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

A ThinkPad E485 némileg vegyes benyomást kelt. Önmagában ez egy szolid, belépőszintű üzleti laptop robusztus házzal, megfelelő kijelzővel és nagyszerű bemeneti eszközökkel. Viszont ha a ThinkPad E480-hoz hasonlítjuk, amely elvileg egy identikus modell Intel processzorral, akkor számos különbséget találunk. Elsősorban a billentyűzet háttérvilágításának a hiányáról beszélünk, amely még opcióként sem érhető el, és az alapegység műanyag tetejéről, amely valamivel gyengébb minőségű. Néha az az érzésünk, hogy a gyártó szándékosan távol akarja tartani az Intel modellektől.

Másrészt persze adott a ThinkPad E485 alacsonyabb ára, és a felhasználók többségének az anyagok közötti különbségekkel kell élniük. Egy másik gond az enyhén szerencsétlen felszerelés. Miközben mindenki tudja, hogy az integrált AMD GPU-k hatalmasat profitálnak a kétcsatornás RAM-ból, az összes előre konfigurált modell kizárólag egycsatornás RAM modullal van felszerelve. Noha aránylag könnyen bővíthető, lényegében 8 GB elég kéne legyen a felhasználók nagy részének, és több RAM többe is kerül. Jobb lett volna, ha a Lenovo közvetlenül két 4 GB-s modult épít be. De a legjelentősebb probléma valószínűleg a nagyobb energiafogyasztás, ami jóval rövidebb üzemidőt eredményez. Hogy ez az optimalizálás hiánya miatt van, vagy az AMD-s platform egyszerűen több energiát fogyaszt, az egy más kérdés.

Egy kihagyott lehetőség: Az Intel-es testvéreihez képest a ThinkPad E485 néhány olyan gyengeséget mutat, aminek semmi köze az AMD processzorhoz. Érthetetlen például, hogy az E485 felhasználóinak háttérvilágítású billentyűzet nélkül kell beérniük. Azonban bárki, akit ez és a rövidebb üzemidő sem zavar, az a ThinkPad E485-tel egy nagyon szolid belépőszintű készüléket kap, vonzó áron.

A ThinkPad E485 egy sor olyan előnnyel is rendelkezik, ami ebben az árkategóriában nem adott. A processzor több mint elégséges teljesítményt nyújt a legtöbb feladathoz, és a Samsung gyors SSD-jének köszönhetően egy, a mindennapi használatban nagyon készséges eszközre számíthat a vásárló. Emellett van egy jó IPS kijelző (habár lehetnek enyhe különbségek a szállítótól függően). Főképp az alacsony ár miatt mindenképpen ajánljuk az E485-öt.

Update: Unfortunately, the alternative Innolux display turns out much worse in our test than the model from AU Optronics, particularly in terms of the brightness. Using the alternative panel, the overall evaluation would drop from 86.4 to 85.8%. Unfortunately you do not have any influence on the built-in panel variant when purchasing the device, so you have to live with Lenovo's panel lottery.
