Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

A Lenovo Moto Z2 Play jó okostelefon. Még jobb lenne, ha a Moto Z Play nem létezne. Az előd sok dolgot csinált ilyen jól, pár dolgot alig rosszabbul, és bizonyos dolgokat még jobban, mindemellett pedig jelentősen olcsóbb.

Szól bármi amellett, hogy az utódot megvegyük? A Moto Z2 Play házát átdolgozták, és még vékonyabb lett. Ez a legtöbb telefonnál egyszerű marketinges húzás. A Moto Z2 Play esetében viszont új dimenziót ad a készüléknek: a rápakolható Moto Mods egy milliméterből is elég sokat hoz ki. Az alap telefon alacsonyabb tömege szintén fontos, hiszen a Mod-ok plusz tömeget is jelentenek. Ezt nem számítva egy nagyon merev és stílusos házat és megbízhatóbb ujjlenyomat olvasót kapunk. Gyors LTE van, de 802.11ac Wi-Fi még mindig nincs, és a Wi-Fi átviteli sebessége szörnyű. Cserébe a GPS nagyon pontos, és a kamerákkal jó képeket készíthetünk. A kijelző sötétebb, a készülék teljesítménye pedig alig jobb, mint az elődé. Az üzemidő még mindig első osztályú, de sokkal rövidebb a Lenovo Z Play-énél.

Örültünk volna, ha több kockázatot mer vállalni a gyártó az utód modellnél. A Lenovo Moto Z2 Play csak a Moto Z Play átdolgozása, amely ugyan vékonyabb, de rövidebb üzemidőt is kínál, és valódi innovációt viszont nem igazán.

Amennyiben a Moto Mods rendszer - amely egyszerűen és jól működik - megtetszett, úgy ajánlani tudjuk a Moto Z2 Play-t. A probléma, hogy sokszor épp ilyen jó alternatív megoldások léteznek power bank-ok és Bluetooth hangszórók formájában. A Moto Mods velük szemben nem igazán nyújt semmi pluszt. Ugyanakkor ne felejtkezzünk el a Moto Z Play, sőt a Moto Z létezéséről sem: jelenleg mindkettő sokkal olcsóbb, és a Lenovo rájuk is garantálja a Moto Mods kompatibilitást még pár évig.
