Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Amikor olcsóbb gamer laptopokról van szó, általában nem nehéz hiányosságokat találni, mivel a gyártónak óvatosan kell egyensúlyoznia az olcsó alapanyagok, jó kinézet és erős alkatrészek között, hogy minél több vásárló igényeinek meg tudjon felelni. Az Omen 15 esetében adja magát, hogy az éles szegélyű felső fém házrészt, a kijelző fényszivárgását vagy a kifejezetten zavaró ventilátort kritizáljuk. Ezek egyike sem döntő érv egy gamer gép esetében: mindent egybevetve, a HP Omen 15 egy megfizethető Max-Q rendszer, amely elég erős ahhoz, hogy egy sor modern játékot legalább Full HD felbontásban meg tudjon jeleníteni. 

Az új, direktebb design nem feltétlenül tetszik mindenkinek, de a kivitelezés minősége vitán felül jó, stabil alap résszel, és billentyűzettel. A beviteli eszközök jól működnek, a teljesítmény remek, a világos, UHD IPS kijelző - főleg kalibráció után - ennyiért igazán hihetetlen. Az Omen 15 még mindig eléggé melegszik, de messze nem a legrosszabb a kategóriájában. A ventilátorok azonban kifejezetten idegesítők, mivel gyakran felpörögnek, és sokszor produkálnak egy oszcilláló hangot, amely az ember idegeire tud menni.

Azok, akik egy megfizethető alsó-középkategóriás gamer notebookot keresnek, 4K kijelzővel, mindenképpen vegyék fel a lehetséges jelöltek listájára ezt az Omen 15-öt. 

Dell Inspiron 15 kijelzője gyengébb, a teljesítménye elég jó, de kétszer ennyi ideig bírja telepről.
