Az Acer Swift 5 tesztelése és értékelése komoly kihívást jelentett. Az 1 kg-nál (~2.2 lb) kisebb tömeg határozott előny. Ugyanakkor, a sötét és erősen tükröződő kijelző miatt a mobilitása jelentős mértékben lecsökkent.

További erényei a több, mint jó kijelző (a fentiektől eltekintve), az érintő bevitel, a gyors SSD, valamint kis fogyasztás.

Az érem másik oldala viszont elég komoly probléma lett. Elsősorban a masszív lefojtás, amely jelentős mértékben lecsökkentette a teljesítményt (és magyarázatot adott az alacsony áramfelvételre is). A Swift 5 rövid terhelésugrásokkal megbirkózott, de a tartósabb terheléstől letérdelt - ezt a kompromisszumot a különlegesen hordozható és könnyű design tette szükségessé. Még a készülék elődje is gyorsabb volt ennél. Az alacsony tömeg érdekében a következő áldozat a telepkapacitás, és ennek köszönhetően az üzemidő volt. Végül, de nem utolsósorban a kivitelezés minősége távol állt a tökéletestől.

Az Acer Swift 5 nagy áldozatokat hozott a kis tömeg érdekében. Elsősorban annak a speciális felhasználói szegmensnek készült, akik a különlegesen könnyű subnotebookokat preferálják a nagyobb teljesítményű laptopok helyett is.

A nagyon specifikus célközönség ellenére is úgy érezzük, hogy az extrém lefojtással valamit kezdeni kellene. A lehetséges utódban ezen felül még egy hasonlóan jó, de világosabb kijelzőt látnánk szívesen.
