The build quality is good, the choice of materials give it a bit of a premium feel while the overall portability of the chassis is excellent. The input devices are a mixed bag for us, though, because the keyboard is slightly mushy and has short key travel. At least the touchpad compensates for the lacking keyboard.

The Acer Swift 5 is one of the only laptops in India with a 14-inch display that weighs under 1kg, which makes it a bit special. At around this price, you can also find other Ultrabooks such as the Dell XPS 13 9360, Lenovo Ideapad 720 Slim, or even the Asus ZenBook UX430UA - all of which share similar specifications but weigh a bit more than 1kg. If weight is an important factor in your buying decision, it will be really hard to beat the Swift 5. Keep in mind that battery life isn't great, so it won’t be easy to get through a full workday on a single charge unless you use this laptop very conservatively. The trackpad is a bit fiddly too, and there’s no SD card slot.

The Acer Swift 5 hits several of the right marks when it comes to a slim notebook. It is super light and therefore ultra portable, as well as being well designed and eye catching. Add to that a large enough display that is also detailed, along with decent battery life, and the Swift 5 looks like a good choice at R14k.

Honestly the only aspect of the Nitro 5 that gives me pause is longevity. Look at that Rise of the Tomb Raider benchmark again: The GTX 1650 struggles with a four-year-old game. You’re definitely not going to max out most of 2019’s biggest releases, and it’s only going to get worse from here. On the other hand, it’s about $800. Would I recommend saving up an extra $150 to $200 for Acer’s beefier Predator Helios 300, reviewed in July? Yes, absolutely. But if you simply can’t, or if you plan to buy a cheaper laptop and upgrade more often, then the Nitro 5 is a respectable entry-level machine. The build quality far surpasses what I’d expect from a laptop this cheap, and the internals are “good enough,” for what that’s worth.

Az Acer Swift 5 sorozat sokat fejlődött az elmúlt években; persze ennek hatására a széria ára is szépen kúszott felfelé, főleg ha a(z egyik) csúcsmodellt nézzük. Cserébe minden igényt kielégítő teljesítményt, a kategóriában az egyik legalacsonyabb tömeget, prémium dizájnt és nagyon jó, matt felületű érintőképernyőt kapunk. Kompromisszumot pedig nem sokat kell kötni: az üzemidő csak átlagos, de a 8,5 óra még mindig nem rossz, a billentyűzet használata pedig azért relatív gyorsan megszokható.

Ultimately, however, both the Acer and ASUS are excellent notebooks that cater to slightly different users. Acer made a complete redesign of this laptop. From the grounds up. It has changed the appearance of the Swift 5, as well as the material it uses. By swapping magnesium for aluminum, the brand manages to cut costs, and make the building process faster and more precise thanks to the CNC technology. This results in a pretty strong chassis. However, the lid pops in a weird way when you try to twist it. On the bright side, there is a Full HD Web camera with a bunch of software enhancements. Acer Swift 5 (SF514-56T)’s WQXGA IPS display is touch-enabled and has a Corning Gorilla Glass cover with Antimicrobial treatment. In addition, it features comfortable viewing angles, a very high maximum brightness, and a very good contrast ratio. We measured a full sRGB color coverage and didn’t detect PWM use across the entire brightness range.

The last-gen Swift 5, packed with an 11th Gen Intel CPU, blew us out of the water with its 13-hour battery life, stellar performance, attractive design, and palatable price tag. Now, the current-gen Swift 5 is $200 more, but the minor price hike is worth it. It’s got a faster SSD, zippier performance, impressive video transcoding, breakneck file-transfer speeds — and it still manages to be lightweight and pleasing to the eye with an attractive dark-green-and-gold color scheme. The only grievances I have with the Swift 5 is its weak speakers and annoying bloatware apps. Interestingly, when I checked my colleague’s review of the last-gen Swift 5, he pointed out the same issues. If Acer can manage to make its preinstalled apps less irksome, and outfit the Swift 5 with a dual-speaker system with more “oomph,” the Swift 5 could be legendary.

The Acer Swift 5 is an exceptionally well-built ultrabook computer at a really sharp price. The processor is the star of the show, but there’s enough graphics, RAM and storage to compete with more upmarket models. And the Swift 5 doesn’t look cheap at all. If you need a handy PC that you can stuff in your bag for everyday use and that’s so light and compact you’ll wonder if you remembered to bring it, there’s not much to worry about.

Integrált GPU (GT2, 24 EUs), amely egyes Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU modellekben található meg (15 W ULV széria). Technikailag azonos az előző HD Graphics 620-szal.

NVIDIA GeForce MX250:

Az MX150 utódja, amelynek az alapja még mindig ugyanaz a Pascal GP108 chip (hasonlóan az asztali GT 1030-hoz), de nagyobb órajellel.
