A ZTE sok pozitív tulajdonságot át tudott emelni Axon 7  csúcstelefonjukból a kisebb Axon 7 Mini-be. Ide értjük a kiváló házat, a jó hangszórókat, de az FHD-AMOLED panel is meggyőző, leszámítva a kissé pontatlan színeit. A szoftver is jó benyomást tett ránk, és a telefon használata is gördülékeny. A ZTE tartozékok és garancia terén is bőkezű volt.   

A hibái között mindenképpen meg kell említenünk az elavult Wi-Fi modult, és a mobilinternet csatlakozási nehézségeit. Bár bevalljuk, hogy nehezített körülmények között, de az internetre néha nem tudtunk kapcsolódni, míg telefonálni még igen. Továbbá az sem teljesen érthető, hogy a gyors kártyaolvasó ellenére miért nem lehetséges az microSD kártya belső tárhelyként történő formázása. Ezen felül az üzemidőn is lenne mit javítani, mert némely vetélytárs egyszerűen sokkal tovább bírja.

A ZTE Axon 7 Mini jó középkategóriás okostelefon, és néhány területen nem marad el nagy testvére, az Axon 7 mögött. Viszont a ZTE más dolgokon spórolt, főleg az időnként rossz mobilinternet kapcsolat rontja le kissé a telefonról kialakult képet. 

Már korábban említettük, hogy a ZTE Axon 7 Mini több jó okostelefonnal verseng a 300 euróig tartó (~$316) sávban. A vele összehasonlított készülékek hasonló teljesítménnyel bírnak, a különbségek általában a képességeikben mutatkoznak meg. A kiváló háznak, jó hangszóróknak, és a bőséges memóriának hála, a tesztelt modellnek van némi előnye. Amennyiben a néha nem túl jó mobilinternet nem jelent gondot, a ZTE Axon 7 Mini nem rossz választás.
