Olcsó termékek a Távol-Keletről? Ugyan sok dolog megfelel a velük kapcsolatos előítéleteknek, a Mi Gaming Laptop pont nem ilyen. A 15 colos laptop a legtöbb kategóriában könnyedén lépést tart a versenytársakkal, sőt néha le is hagyja azokat.

Bár a ház nem pehelysúlyú, és vannak a piacon vékonyabb csúcsnotebookok, mégis kifejezetten tetszett. A kivitelezés, anyaghasználat és design vitán felül hibátlan. A beviteli eszközök és a hangrendszer is jobbnak tűnik, mint néhány 2-3000 eurós (~$2309-3464) notebook esetében.

Ugyanakkor nem minden arany, ami fénylik. Az ár alacsonyan tartása érdekében egyes részleteken faragnia kellett a Xiaomi-nak, ilyen a kártyaolvasó, a lassú Wi-Fi modul, vagy éppen bizonyos csatlakozók hiánya (Thunderbolt 3, Kensington Lock). Míg a 8 GB RAM és a 128 GB-os SSD szerény, a gép elérhető 16 GB RAM-mal és 256 GB-os SSD-vel is.

Szerintünk azonban a fentieken túl lehet lépni. Ami már zavaróbb, az a 3D-s alkalmazások közben jelentkező zaj, valamint az alapjáraton feleslegesen működő ventilátorok. Ugyan ezek tipikus jelenségek gamer laptopoknál, a versenytársak gyakran orvosolni tudják manuális beállítások engedélyezésével. Az már egyéni ízlés kérdése, hogy a G-Sync hiányát mennyire értékeljük negatívumnak. A Xiaomi az Optimus-t hasznosítja helyette, amely az üzemidőnek tesz jót.

A kijelző vegyes benyomást keltett. Egyrészt, a magas kontraszt és stabil betekintési szögek jók, másrészről viszont nem felel meg a jelenleg gamer gépekben elvárt (120/144 Hz, kis válaszidő) kritériumoknak. A vásárlásnál azt is érdemes szem előtt tartani, hogy a Mi Gaming Laptop teljesen kínai nyelvű, azaz nem igazán az EU-s, vagy amerikai piacra szánták. Azok, akiket azonban a kezdeti kihívások nem rettentenek el, és be tudják szerezni a készüléket közvetlenül, vagy akár némi kerülővel, azok egy remek egységet kapnak, baráti áron.

Végül, a kevésbé esélyes versenyző tör előre, és előkelő helyet foglal magának a 10 legjobb olcsó gamer notebookot felsorakoztató listánkon.
