vivo V70 Review: A Concert Photographer’s Phone in Mid-Range Clothes

The vivo V70 in Golden Hour is one of the more cohesive mid-range phones available right now. The etched glass with its unexpected bluish shift, the aluminum frame, the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, the bright 1.5K OLED, and the ZEISS telephoto and portrait system all work together in a way that makes the phone feel intentional rather than assembled from a spec sheet and a parts catalog. The 8MP ultra-wide and the absence of wireless charging are unfortunate blemishes on what is otherwise a remarkably well-rounded package. Both are real trade-offs rather than dealbreakers, though, and the vivo V70 earns its place as a phone that’s genuinely hard to fault for what it costs, especially if portrait photography, concert shooting, and long battery life are what matter most to you.

The Vivo V70 Elite has been launched in India, with a starting price of Rs 51,999. This makes it the most expensive V-series offering to date. It also places the smartphone in close proximity to the X200 FE in Vivo’s portfolio of devices. On paper, the X-series smartphone appears to be a more promising offering, which starts at Rs 54,999. However, the Vivo V70 Elite has its own charm. The handset boasts a large 6,500mAh battery, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, ZEISS-backed triple cameras, OriginOS 6, and more. So who exactly should consider buying the Vivo V70 Elite? Read on as I tell you the reasons to buy and not to buy the smartphone, with inputs from its review.

The Vivo V70 Elite has been priced in India starting at Rs 51,999, putting it in the same territory as the X200 FE (review), a compact alternative from Vivo that offers a slightly more powerful chipset and a capable camera system. Moreover, the V70 Elite doesn’t differentiate much from the standard Vivo V70, except for the chipset, on paper. We’ll soon publish our detailed Vivo V70 review on the website to see how different the phone is from its elder sibling in the real world. Stay tuned. But, for now, if you’re not a specs nerd, the Vivo V70 Elite makes a strong first impression in real-world usage. The refreshed design feels lightweight yet premium, while the AMOLED display stands out with vibrant colours, strong brightness and an immersive viewing experience.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8:

SD 8s Gen 3: A 2024-ben bemutatott, okostelefonokba szánt csúcskategóriás SoC (System on a Chip). Többek között egy gyors, akár 3 GHz-es Cortex-X4 "Prime Core" és további 4 gyors, 2,8 GHz-es Cortex-A720 magot integrál. Az energiatakarékosság érdekében további 3 darab 2,3 GHz-es ARM Cortex-A520 magot is beépítettek. Integrálva van egy 5G modem, WiFi 7 és egy jelentősen gyorsabb AI motor.
