ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2020 rövid értékelés: Ismerős üzleti laptop új töltővel

Apró Frissítés. A Lenovo bemutatja az üzleti zászlóshajó ThinkPad X1 Carbon-nak a 8. generációját. Ez viszont csak egy nagyon apró frissítés, és úgy tűnik, hogy eleinte csak egy új Intel Comet Lake-U processzort kapunk. AMD processzorok nincsenek tervben ennél a drága üzleti notebook generációnál.

Összegzés - Apró frissítés valós előnyök nélkül

Tavaly a ThinkPad X1 Carbon kapott egy nagy frissítést, most viszont a vásárlók csak egy apró frissítést kapnak. Egyes régiók már megkapták a Comet Lake processzort a 2019-es G7 generációban, és az X1 Carbon 8. generációja most minden régióban az új processzort használja. A processzor és a videokártya teljesítményét illetően viszont gyakorlatilag nincsenek különbségek, és nem indokolják a frissítést. Az egyetlen valódi előny az új Wi-Fi 6 modul.

Annak ellenére, hogy nem történtek lényeges frissítések, a ThinkPad X1 Carbon még így is egy nagyon jó üzleti laptop, rendkívül könnyű és szilárd vázzal. Viszont maradtak ugyanazok a problémák, mint például a panel lottó az alacsony fogyasztású (LowPower) 1080p képernyőknél. A billentyűzet szintén valamivel rosszabb a tavalyi vázfrissítés óta. Ez magas szintű siránkozás, ugyanakkor a zászlóshajó ThinkPad billentyűzete már nem a legjobb, és vastagabb gépek (mint a T sorozat) itt előnyben vannak.

A Lenovo nem használ AMD processzorokat az X1 sorozatban, így a 8. generációra való váltás csak apró frissítésnek számít. Még így is egy nagyon jó üzleti laptop, de a Lenovo új ThinkPad T14s-e (beleértve az AMD SoC-ket) lehet a legnagyobb versenytárs. 

Tehát megéri frissíteni? Az egyetlen valódi előnyök a 2019-es modellhez képest a Wi-Fi 6 modul és a valamivel kisebb hálózati adapter, de mindez aligha indokolja a frissítést. Ugyanakkor alig várjuk, hogy megkapjuk az új ThinkPad T14s-t. Új vázt kap, és még közelebb lehet a X1 Carbon-hoz, de a Lenovo AMD CPU-kkal rendelkező modelleket is fog kínálni az Intel SKU-k mellett. Ha az olcsó, AMD 4000 CPU-s ThinkPad E15 első eredményeit nézzük, akkor az AMD T14s várhatóan sokkal nagyobb teljesítményt fog nyújtani, mint az X1 Carbon.
