To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Nem meglepő, hogy bármi, ami a Porsche vagy Porsche Design márkanevet viseli, az nem lesz olcsó. A sportkocsijaik viszont a Book One-nal ellentétben az elvárt teljesítményt és minőséget hozzák. Ritkán látunk olyan készüléket, ahol a jó és rossz tulajdonságok között ekkora szakadék tátong.

Egyértelműen a pozitívumok közé tartozik a világos érintőkijelző, a remek szerelési minőség, a mágnesesen rögzített digitalizáló, valamint a kényelmes billentyűzet. Ezen felül egy modern IR kamerát (arcfelismeréssel), és a billentyűzet dokkoló használata esetén remek üzemidőt is kapunk.

Ugyanakkor a negatívumok súlyosabbak a pozitívumoknál, főleg ergonómia és zaj terén. Az átalakítható kifejezetten "fejnehéz", így ölben alig használható. A zsanérok nehezen viselik a tablet tömegét, és az alsó szegély (amit általában megfogunk) sem lekerekített. A billentyűzet háttérfény csak teljes sötétségben működik igazán jól, egyébként pedig egyenetlen fényerő eloszlással és alacsony kontraszttal küzd.

Kiváló marketing, gyér teljesítmény – a Porsche Design Book One from  papíron remek gép, de közelebbről megnézve többé-kevésbé komoly problémát mutat - az árához képest túl sokat. A riválisok valamelyikének készülékeivel jobban járunk.

A két fő probléma a majdnem állandó elektronikus zaj, és a gyenge teljesítmény. A Core i7 mesterségesen lefojtott, az aktív hűtés ellenére, de még egy mag teljes teljesítményét sem képes kiaknázni, még rövid terhelés alatt sem. A lefojtás jellemző probléma a vékony készülékeknél, de a tesztpéldány a közelében sem jár az ígért teljesítménynek. Amennyiben pedig a dokkolót nem használjuk, úgy a nagy fogyasztás miatt az üzemidő erősen leesik.

Nem ajánljuk Book One-t. Amennyiben  nem a márkanév a legfontosabb, úgy a vetélytársak gépeivel jobban is járunk, és spórolhatunk is.

Megjegyzés: A végső értékelésből levontunk, mert a gép "laptop"-ként - ölben - alig használható, és csak tabletként pedig az üzemideje extrém rövid.
