Ne akard megjavítani, ami nem romlott el – ez lehetett a Lenovo mottója a ThinkPad P71 tervezésekor. A P70 jó ideig az egyetlen 17 inches munkaállomás volt, komolyabb hibák nélkül.

Néhány dolog idén még jobb lett, például a Windows 10 méretezése (bár ez nem a Lenovo érdeme). A nagyon jó 4K panel nem változott, de a gyári kalibrációja jobban sikerült. A ház még mindig strapabíró, a beviteli eszközök kitűnőek maradtak, és a hűtés is jó, amelynek köszönhetően majdnem tökéletesen hozza a lehetséges maximális teljesítményt is.

Nézzük, hogy mi változott viszont. Az új Kaby Lake-es processzor csak kisebb frissítés a Skylake modellhez képest, de a Quadro P3000 GPU sokkal gyorsabb, mégis takarékosabb, mint a Quadro M3000M volt. A ventilátorok legtöbbször nagyon csendesek, de mégsem melegszik túl a gép, szóval terhelés alatt is kellemes használni. Ez azonban valószínűleg változni fog, ha valamelyik erősebb videokártyát (P4000 & P5000) kérjük a gépbe.

A ThinkPad P71 fő erénye az új generációs videokártya. A jó hűtésnek, remek kijelzőnek, és kiváló beviteli eszközöknek hála, ez jelenleg az egyik legjobb mobil munkaállomás.

Idén sem találtunk komolyabb hiányosságot. A webkamerát végre cserélhetnék, és egy ekkora mobil munkaállomás jobb hangszórókat is kaphatna. Az időszakos tekercszaj még zavaróbbnak tűnik, mert kis terhelés esetén gyakrabban kikapcsol a ventilátor, így minden járulékos zajt jobban hallani lehet.
