Hagyományosan a mobil munkaállomások nyújtják a legnagyobb teljesítményt, és könnyen karbantarthatók. Cserébe a felhasználók szívesen elviselik a nagyobb és vastagabb készülékházat. Ez azonban már nem érvényes teljes mértékben. Igen, a jelenlegi ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 karbantartási lehetőségei kiválóak, de a drága munkaállomás különösen a teljesítmény és a hűtés terén gyengélkedik. Óhatatlanul felmerül a kérdés, hogy miért van szükség manapság még mindig ilyen vastag házra, amikor a teljesítmény (mind a CPU, mind a GPU esetében), valamint a hőmérséklet is rosszabb, mint a modern gamer laptopoknál vagy néha akár a vékonyabb mobil munkaállomásoknál. A CPU esetében is egy kicsit dinamikusabb kezelést (magasabb TDP kizárólag CPU terhelés alatt) kívántunk volna.

A ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 nagyon kiábrándító, és terhelés alatt magas hőmérséklettel és hangos ventilátorokkal küszködik. Az új RTX A3000 viszont jó teljesítményt nyújt, és a régi Quadro GPU-khoz képest jelentős jobb teljesítményt kínál.

Összességében a P15 Gen 2 koncepciója mostanra már kissé elavultnak tűnik, részben a hatalmas képernyő keret miatt. A gyártó simán beépíthetett volna ide egy 16 hüvelykes (16:10-es) kijelzőt, mint például az új ThinkPad P1 Gen 4-be.

A P15 Gen 2 portjainak, karbantartási lehetőségeinek és bemeneti eszközeinkek a választéka kielégítő, és a fényes 1080p-s kijelző is jól teljesít, de szívesen láttunk volna egy jobb hűtőrendszert. Azonban, különösen a grafikus és professzionális alkalmazásokban nyújtott nagy teljesítménye miatt a P15 Gen 2 még így is jó értékelést kap. Már most kíváncsian várjuk, hogyan teljesítenek majd a Dell, a HP és az MSI új munkaállomásai.

Ár és elérhetőség

A cikk írásakor a Lenovo online áruházában a ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 többféle konfigurációja is megtalálható. Jelenleg két olyan változat létezik, amely az RTX A300 GPU-val rendelkezik: Az egyik Core i7-11800H CPU-val, 64 GB RAM-mal, 1 TB-os PCIe SSD-vel és HDR 400 Dolby Vision 600 nites UHD (3840x2160) IPS kijelzővel (4799,00 dollár), a másik pedig csak a CPU tekintetében tér el a Core i9-11950H-val, a RAM pedig csak 32 GB-os (5109,00 dollár).

Aki kevesebb grafikus teljesítménnyel is beéri, annak más, az igényeknek megfelelő modellek is rendelkezésre állnak, amelyeknél az árak 2949 dollár körül kezdődnek.
