Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

A HP középkategóriás üzleti noteszgépe kicsivel jobb teljesítményre képes az új, Kaby Lake processzornak köszönhetően. Ez ugyanakkor mindennapi teendők során gyakorlatilag észlelhetetlen. Az új processzor az üzemidőt feljebb tornássza, így a laptop az elődjeinek már amúgy is jó eredményeit felül tudja múlni. A gép csendes, és alig melegszik, függetlenül a terheléstől. Az 500 GB-os merevlemeznek hála egy darabig a hely miatt sem kell aggódni. A HDD cserélhető SSD-re is, ez a laptop alsó burkolatának leszedésével egyszerűen megoldható.

Általánosságban a ProBook 650 G3 egy stabil üzleti noteszgép. Ugyanakkor a teszt modell kevésbé vonzó, mint lehetne, mert az ára túl magas az általa nyújtottakhoz képest. 

Az SSD-ről szólva: A HP 1050 eurót (~$1111) kér egy notebookért, amely HDD-vel van felszerelve SSD helyett. Ez egy igen jelentős negatívum. A billentyűzet jónak tűnik, sokat gépelők számára készült. A világítás viszont hiányzik belőle. A gép árát figyelembe véve ez az alapfelszereltség része lehetne. Ezen felül a kijelző is kiábrándító. A cég egy kontrasztszegény, szűk betekintési szögű TN panelt épített a gépbe. Ebben az árfekvésben ilyen kijelzőnek nem lenne szabad előkerülnie. Egy IPS panel elvárás lenne.
