A lot of this has to do with the 2-in-1 design and the hinges needed for such a design. It’s not heavier than the competition, so it’s not an issue when it comes to comparing. But for those who want light and portable, this boy may be a bit hefty. Maybe a 14″ would be better for portability. The new keyboard is comfortable, backlit, and has decent key travel. The trackpad is OK but could be improved. I suggest you shell out for the mini-LED display because it is fantastic. It’s bright with great color reproduction and the blacks are great as are the whites.

Prices for the Dell Premium 16 start at $1,800 for the base model on the company's official storefront. My review unit currently retails for $2,800 as part of a temporary promotion. If you want a graphic design laptop with extra oomph behind it, I recommend the Alienware 18 Area-51. Its Stealth Mode feature disables all RGB lighting, allowing the gaming laptop to fit right in an office setting. Be mindful of its battery life because it's not great either. Personally, I would go with Dell's laptop. Its performance is rock solid, and it is a more affordable option than the base Alienware 18, which costs $3,200.

2025 Dell 16 Premium and 14 Premium Laptop Review: XPS reborn with Arrow Lake processors in a familiar design

The new Dell 16 Premium and Dell 14 Premium have a couple of key differences from last year. The most obvious and main difference is that they are no longer called XPS. The other differences come with configuration and performance. These new machines are now running Intel’s latest Arrow Lake processors and NVIDIA’s latest dedicated GPUs. Arrow and Lunar Lake processors have proven to be much better on battery life with the new CPU/GPU/NPU integration, and that continues to be the case here. Normally, I might advise folks to save some money and purchase last year’s models discounted. But with the new performance boosts, you can’t go wrong with buying the Dell 16 Premium or the 14 now. Dell is already running specials to get the ball rolling on these new devices. Yes, you might miss the XPS name, but you’re essentially getting everything but the name here.

Intel Arc 140V: Egy elég gyors integrált grafikus adapter, amelyet egyes Intel Lunar Lake processzorok állítólag alkalmaznak. A 140V 8 Xe² architektúrájú maggal rendelkezik, amelyek akár 2050 MHz-en is futnak, és 8 ray tracing egységgel; DirectX 12 Ultimate-kompatibilis, és az összes modern videokodecet támogatja. Ha a közelmúltban kiszivárgott benchmark pontszámok bármit is jeleznek, akkor játékteljesítménye valamivel jobb lesz, mint a GeForce MX570-é.

Ultra 7 255H: Az Arrow Lake architektúrán alapuló csúcskategóriás mobil processzor 16 maggal, 3 klaszterre osztva. A gyors 6 P-mag akár 5,1 GHz-es órajelen is képes működni. Emellett 8 kisebb E-mag is van, legfeljebb 4,4 GHz-es órajelen, valamint 2 kis, alacsony fogyasztású mag (azonos architektúra), legfeljebb 2,5 GHz-es órajelen. Integrál egy kis NPU-t 13 TOPS csúcsteljesítménnyel és támogatja a vPro Essentials-t.
