The combination of strong performance, excellent battery life, a superb sound system, and a good display for under £800 (currently a lot under) is a hard combination to ignore. Granted, the price creeps up a bit when you add a keyboard and pen, and charger, but you will then have a tremendously useful, versatile, and compact Windows device.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 12 is a good, solid laptop/tablet hybrid. It’s got enough power for everyday tasks, excellent battery life and a smart design. The display, while not OLED, is very good, and the kickstand remains one of my favourite design features on any tablet. However, this latest Surface shares many of the same issues that have plagued the series. While it’s great that the starting price is less than the MacBook Air M4 at £799/$799, you’ll need to spend more on the keyboard cover to make this a usable device. An iPad Pro M4 is a great tablet with or without a keyboard added, whereas Windows 11 still needs to be controlled with a trackpad or mouse to get the most from it.The design is a little uninspiring with those chunky screen bezels, and many of the AI features remain underbaked. This is a good entry-level Surface Pro that’d make a great student companion – it’s just not a true successor to the Surface Pro 11.

Qualcomm Adreno X1-45 1.7 TFLOPS: A Snapdragon X Plus 8-magos X1P-42-100 SoC integrált grafikus adapterrel rendelkezik. A gyorsabb, 3,8 TFLOPS és 4,6 TFLOPS-os X1-85 iGPU-khoz képest ez nem csak alacsonyabb órajelen fut, de kevesebb egyesített shaderrel is rendelkezik, valószínűleg 768-zal. Az alapul szolgáló architektúra állítólag nem sokban különbözik az Adreno 730-asban használtaktól. Ami a játékteljesítményét illeti, az éppen csak elegendő a 2020 előtti játékokhoz olyan felbontásoknál, mint a HD 720p, alacsony grafikai beállítások mellett.

SD X Plus X1P-42-100: Egy viszonylag megfizethető árú ARM architektúrájú, Windows laptopokban használható system-on-a-chip, amely a tervek szerint 2024. május 20-án debütál. Az X1P-42-100 állítólag 8 Oryon CPU-maggal (8 P-mag, 0 E-mag) rendelkezik, amelyek egyelőre nem ismert, legalább 3 GHz-es órajelen futnak. Valószínűleg egy 3,8 TFLOPS-os Adreno GPU, egy 45 TOPS-os Hexagon NPU, egy lenyűgözően gyors LPDDR5x-8448 memóriavezérlő, USB 4.0 támogatás, TB 4 támogatás és PCIe 4 támogatás is megtalálható a fedélzeten.
