A ThinkPad P53 még mindig egy hagyományos mobil munkaállomás, amely nem igazán követi a vékonyabb és vékonyabb házak és keretek aktuális trendjeit. Ennek eredményeképpen viszont a ház rendkívül erős, a portválaszték bőséges, könnyen bővíthető, és a hardver nagyon erős, különösen a grafika szintjén.

Külsőleg nem sok változás történt a tavalyi ThinkPad P52-höz képest, viszont a motorháztető alatt történtek változások. A legvonzóbb változás az erősebb videokártyák (Quadro RTX 4000 & 5000), amelyeket általában nagyobb 17 hüvelykes munkaállomásoknak szoktak fenntartani. És itt indokolt némi kritika, mivel a vásárlók nem tudják, hogy a videokártya melyik verziójára számítsanak. Sem az Nvidia, sem a Lenovo nem jelenti ki, hogy a lassúbb 80 wattos verzió van a rendszerbe építve. Valószínűleg a Lenovo is az RTX 4000 lassúbb változatára támaszkodik. Mindent összevetve, a grafikai teljesítmény még így is meggyőző.

Világos 1080p panel, kitűnő bemeneti eszközök és hatalmas teljesítmény: A ThinkPad P53 egy minden tekintetben nagyon jó készülék, különösebb gyenge pontok nélkül. Az egyetlen dolog, amit kritizálhatunk, az a hűtési megoldás, amely valamivel jobban optimalizált lehetne a kombinált CPU és GPU terhelésekre.

A hűtési megoldás sem tökéletes. Szeretjük a defenzív ventilátor szabályozás, ami még rövidebb terhelési periódusok után is meggátolja a ventilátorok aktiválódását. A hűtési megoldás viszont képtelen lépést tartani a kombinált CPU és GPU terhelésekkel, csökkentett processzor teljesítményt eredményezve. Jók a csendes ventilátorok, viszont a felhasználók, akik csúcskomponenseket választanak ebben az árkategóriában, valószínűleg szeretnék maximálisan kiaknázni a bennük rejlő lehetőségeket. Meggyőződésünk, hogy a hűtési opció nagyobb hatékonyságra is képes, még ha ez nagyobb ventilátorzajt is eredményez. Jelen pillanatban csak találgatni tudunk, hogy a P53 más konfigurációi mennyire jól teljesítenek. Arra számítunk, hogy főleg a kisebb GPU-kkal felszerelt modellek (mint az RTX 3000 vagy a T sorozat) jobban kihasználják a CPU-t.

Sok aktuális ThinkPad-hez hasonlóan, a Lenovo P53 jelentős javításokon men keresztül a kijelző opciókat illetően. Míg az alapkonfiguráció most is egy 300 cd/m²-es IPS panelt tartalmaz, már elérhető a jobb és - ami még fontosabb - világosabb 1080p modell. Továbbá, a Lenovo további két nagy felbontású kijelzőt (4K IPS vagy 4K OLED panel) is kínál, amelyek biztosítják, hogy minden felhasználó megtalálja a neki megfelelő modelt.

Ezek a kritikák kissé szőrszálhasogatások, mivel a ThinkPad P53-nak nincsenek valódi gyenge pontjai, és megérdemli a jó általános osztályzatot.
