If you like the look of Apple's MacBooks but prefer or simply require the Windows ecosystem, well, you can do a lot worse than the new Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro. Like its predecessor, the very similar Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro, it owes its overall look and feel to the MacBook. Thanks to its sleek wedge-shaped chassis, it's most similar to Apple's now defunct MacBook M1 Air in terms of design. But for features and performance it probably falls somewhere in between the newer and boxier MacBook Air 13-inch (M3) and the base model MacBook Pro 14-inch. Available in both 14-inch and 16-inch formats, this 14-inch model has both advantages and weaknesses compared to Apple's alternatives. Samsung hasn't made dynamic changes to the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro formula, but Intel's techy progress makes this generation more ready for fun. It looks made for high-flying exec meetings, is surprisingly good for travel considering its size, yet it's now not too bad for light gaming either. You can get more substantial keyboards, beefier speakers, and some other lines are more aggressive on the value front. But this one squared up pretty well to a MacBook Air 15 – but for the same price you get a cracking OLED display, touchscreen and stylus support.

The Galaxy Book4 Pro is a solid Windows offering that manages to rival Apple, at least when it comes to the looks. The base model with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD is priced at Rs 1,39,990 and for Rs 1,71,990 you can double the memory and storage. Considering the RAM is soldered, it would be wise to choose the appropriate model according to your needs. Intel’s new Core Ultra series brings notable improvements including better battery life thanks to its low-power cores, and some AI magic in a variety of apps and software. It’s not a power horse, but considering the form factor it is clear that Intel is on the right path. Buy this if you want a sleek, high-quality Windows notebook that doesn’t compromise on build quality. Additionally, the Galaxy Book4 Pro is suitable for content creators and, if you are into the Samsung ecosystem, the dedicated suite of apps can be quite useful.

Reviewing Samsung's Galaxy Book 4 Pro, a 14-inch Intel Core Ultra 7 laptop and one of the best 2024 releases if you want a balance of portability and power. I've been testing the gaming chops, video editing skills and battery life of the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro this past week and it's easily a Macbook Air alternative. Here's my verdict, and check out my other laptop reviews for other options. Frequent travellers who need a capable laptop for creative tasks should be happy with that Core Ultra 7 performance. Photo editing is a breeze and video editing was also smooth, as long as you don't want to combine two or more 4K videos into a single stream. The Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro also boasts upgraded battery life vs the 3 Pro from last year. Besides that, this is an incremental update for sure. The Dynamic AMOLED screen is another stunner and Samsung's stereo speaker setup is respectable for enjoying videos or games.

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 is not perfect and the 16" convertible form factor and may not be for everyone with it's larger 16-inch footprint. However, it does offer great battery life, touch input, a stunningly beautiful OLED display, and premium build quality. It's also currently on sale for $1499, which is a competitive value for a premium, convertible laptop with these features and capabilities. Its standout feature is the long battery life, beating most of the Windows laptop field and keeping pace with the MacBook Air. The display can’t be ignored either, with luxurious visuals that are second to none. However, performance falls slightly short of key rivals like the Asus Zenbook 14 OLED, MacBook Air, Acer Swift Edge 16 and LG Gram SuperSlim. As such, if you think you’ll be pushing this device with intensive productivity work and plenty of multitasking, then you may want to consider these excellent rivals. Devices like the Asus and Apple also offer far better audio experiences too. There’s a wide set of options for you to consider in our best laptops guide. Nevertheless, a massive trackpad, 360-degree hinge, solid keyboard, always-excellent S Pen and useful set of ports combine with the other industry-leading standards I’ve mentioned to make this a B+ effort from Samsung.

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 builds upon the previous model with some simple touches, like an improved HDMI port, new anti-reflective coating and a tweaked set of colour options. Other than that, it’s all about the AI capabilities and Samsung ecosystem offerings that Intel’s latest chips and it being a “Galaxy” device can offer. You won’t find it for quite as cheap though, with lower priced variants eliminated this time out. But, if you’re interested in the new higher base spec then there’s thankfully only a £50 price bump from the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360. You’ll have to wait for our full review to fully put this year’s performance, display, audio and battery life through its paces. It’ll also be worth looking out for our coverage of other devices in this range, with the Galaxy Book4 Ultra getting the most upgrades from last year, while there’s a new touchscreen for the standard Galaxy Book4 Pro too.
