The Galaxy A32 5G is one of the most impressive budget phones right now. It definitely has a few sore points, like the low display resolution and poor quality secondary cameras, and Samsung should be promising at least three years of major Android updates (like with the Galaxy S21, Galaxy A52, etc.). However, the rest of the package is impressive for under $300. The battery life is excellent, the performance was faster than I was expecting, and the 90Hz refresh rate keeps the phone super-smooth. This phone’s main competition in the United States is the 2021 Moto G Power, which retails for $230 — $50 less than the Galaxy A32 5G. That phone has similar performance with a Snapdragon 665 and 4GB RAM, plus a higher-resolution (60Hz-only) screen.

However, the A32 5G biggest folly is that Samsung went about creating it by taking its good-value sibling and cramming 5G into the mix, without really inflating the budget price point. This has resulted in a phone with an unfortunately-downgraded LCD display, in particular, among other things. It is the single biggest gripe we have with the Galaxy A32 5G, since it just fails to live up to current market standards. It's as simple as that. All things considered, the Galaxy A32 5G is currently one of the cheapest Samsung phones with 5G on offer. Until the Galaxy A22 5G becomes a thing. If it is absolutely imperative for you to get a budget 5G Samsung, in particular, today, then the A32 5G is the way to go. I think there will be a lot of comparison shopping between the Nord N10 5G and the Galaxy A32 5G. The phones occupy nearly identical price points ($280 vs. $300), and they both take a similar approach to specs and design. The key to making a decision between them is how long you plan on using your next phone. If this is just to tide you over for a year or so, the N10 5G may be the better choice — though keep in mind, The N10's 5G connectivity only works on T-Mobile. Blow-for-blow, the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G falls to the OnePlus Nord N10 5G — it feels slower than OnePlus' phone, has less RAM, less storage, a worse display, slower charging, and even slightly worse battery life in my experience. Samsung's software swings the pendulum back in its own way, though.

Feature-wise, the Galaxy A32 is not exactly the best. It does include a Micro SD card slot at the cost of your second SIM card and it does preserve its headphone jack. You also have 5G support but it’s limited to sub6 speeds so don’t expect blazing fast network speeds. Honestly, the best thing about this phone is its monstrous battery and One UI 3.0 from Samsung. In any other scenario, saving up just a bit more for the Galaxy A52 would be a much better option, especially if you need a better camera, display and would want water resistance. So the Samsung Galaxy A32 is a decent phone. It's not something we'd recommend because it would have been nice to have at least optical stabilization for making better videos and an OLED display, but we can certainly see how it can be useful if you need 5G and a big 2-day battery at a lower cost.

Tehát okvetlenül fejlődött, miközben már nem kell az 5G miatt lemondani erről-arról, hogy beférjen az ársapkába. És a júzernek is egyszerűbb a dolga. Tehát most nem ez a legjobb vétel, mert többet drágult az elődhöz képest, mint amennyivel az eggyel jobb motyónak tavaly óta esett az ára, szóval amíg A52s-t lehet kapni, addig azt tessenek venni, ha a Samsung kínálatában keresünk középkategóriás mobilt. De nyilván eljön az a pillanat, amikor az A52s eltűnik a boltokból, addigra vélhetően az A33 is valamivel olcsóbb lesz és akkor már abszolút releváns ajánlat lehet, hiszen rengeteg ponton fejlődött, egy csomó fontos extra megvan benne, képalkotásban sem vall szégyent, korrekt az üzemidő, az elvárásoknak megfelelő a kijelző, az Exynos 1280 pedig ugyan nem egy kifejezett erőgép, de legalább takarékos.

Performance in playback is very good too, even if it sounds a bit aggressive at high volume. The Galaxy A33 5G benefits from well-balanced timbre, with clear midrange and quite satisfying bass. Bass performance is surprisingly solid, with a round sonority and good presence. Midrange is homogeneous, providing good clarity and sufficient warmth. Treble sounds clear and quite brilliant. The A33 5G is not as consistent at different volume levels. The A33 does a good job at preserving its tonal balance at softer volumes, despite a slight loss of bass. But at maximum volume treble tends to sound somewhat piercing and aggressive. In the dynamics attribute, the A33 5G performs well and consistently regardless of the volume level. Attack is accurate and snappy. With realistic envelope in the low-end, bass precision is very satisfying. Considering spatial performance, the stereo scene rendition is both accurate in terms of localizability and fairly wide for a device of this size. The stereo image does not rotate accordingly to the phone orientation. Left/Right balance seems well-centered.

Egy kompakt mobil nem maradt az A-szériában, az A34 a káváival pedig már az S23 Ultra méreteit súrolja, és ott legalább stylus segít a képernyőt megszelídíteni. Az egykori Note széria sikere is hozzájárulhatott ahhoz az értelmezéshez a Samsungnál, hogy ha a nép a csúcsmobilból a legnagyobbat preferálja, biztos az is tepsit akar vásárolni, akinek nem létkérdés a telefon, és ezért olcsóbbat és könnyebben hordozhatót választana. Azzal viszont, hogy nincs többé az A-szériában méretválaszték, azon márkahű ismerőseink és olvasóink, akik kezesebb Galaxyt szeretnének, ám nincs 400 ezer forintjuk a legkisebb S23-ra, hoppon maradtak. Bérgyártásban ráadásul olyan hibák is előjöttek, mint a virtuális közelségérzékelő vagy a cseppszerű, 170 ezer forintért méltatlan előlapi kameradizájn, bár legalább az IP67 védelem megvan. Mi is olvasunk külföldi teszteket, és nem egy dicséri meg az A34 jó ár/érték arányát – ott persze, ahol nem a magyar árak játszanak. Itthon ugyanis több tízezer forinttal olcsóbb és még sokévnyi támogatást élvez a jobb kamerákat kínáló Galaxy A53, árszinten pedig a Realme GT 2 és Neo 3, a Poco F4 vagy épp a Nothing Phone (1) tud több ponton rálicitálni, legyen szó hardverről vagy doboztartalomról. Aki viszont a Galaxy A3 élményt üldözi, a Pixel 6a-val spórolhat és vigasztalódhat, aki pedig kész még egy kicsit rááldozni, annak a kezes Xiaomi 12 és a parányi iPhone SE csúcshardvert nyújt. A meghízott A34-nek így marad a malmozás a komolyabb áresésig, illetve a szolgáltató jóindulata, ilyen jó terméktámogatással ugyanakkor az idő neki dolgozik, és borítékolható, hogy idővel sokkal olcsóbb lesz.

The Galaxy A34 5G is an all-plastic affair, including the rear cover and frame, though there are individual cutouts in the rear cover for the triple camera system. My first impression was that the Galaxy A34 5G looks a little dated compared to many other budget phones, though that’s largely due to the use of a waterdrop notch here rather than a punch-hole cutout. It also bears a bit of a resemblance to older iPhones owing to the rounded corners and relatively thick design. The phone brings a 6.6-inch 120Hz FHD+ OLED screen to the table, and it defaults to low auto-brightness at first. Thankfully, that’s just the usual adaptive brightness quirk and the phone gets bright enough for viewing in all conditions after you’ve made some tweaks. You’ve also got an optical in-display fingerprint sensor. It’s no surprise that this is noticeably slower than Samsung’s flagship ultrasonic scanners, but I also found it was also slower to unlock than some of its rivals.

The Samsung A34 5G is just £300 in the UK right now, making it one of the best phones at this price. It's cheaper than the Pixel 7a, Galaxy A54 and other rivals, and I enjoyed testing it this past week. The Galaxy A34 5G boasts a similar software setup to the S23 flagship smartphones, with OneUI 5 adding all of Samsung's usual mobile services. That camera isn't as good in low light vs the A54, but it's still fine for everyday photos and video. And gamers can also enjoy a bit of Genshin Impact, on low detail settings - but the Mediatek chipset can't keep everything smooth all of the time. Battery life is a highlight of the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G, giving all day play even with plenty of camera action. And that AMOLED screen is a bit of a stunner, even if it didn't support HDR streaming on Netflix. Visuals are bright and poppy, with a stereo speaker setup (but no headphone jack). So for the £300 budget price, the Galaxy A34 5G is a smartphone that's quite easy to recommend. The Galaxy A34 is a great mid-range device. No question about that. It is not too dissimilar from its predecessor, which is frankly a good thing. Certain staples of the model are here to stay, like the IP67 ingress protection rating, the stereo speakers and the large battery. This year, in particular, the A34 has grown considerably. With a 6.6-inch panel, it is now bigger than both its predecessor and the Galaxy A54. The new display is 120Hz as well, which is a nice little upgrade over last year's 90Hz. Even though the A34 lacks automatic refresh rate switching, we still appreciate the jump-up in smoothness. Add the excellent maximum brightness to the mix, and the A34 manages to almost match the display of its more-expensive A54 sans the HDR capabilities. The chipset choice on the Galaxy A34 is also seemingly working in its favor. While the new Samsung Exynos 1380 does manage to offer a bit higher performance on the A54, the Dimensity 1080 inside the Galaxy A34 holds its own. Plus, it offers great power efficiency, contributing towards the excellent battery life of the A34. The Galaxy A34 doesn't improve much over its A33 5G predecessor in the camera department, but it offers a very well-rounded mid-range camera experience. The triple main camera setup is versatile, too. Honestly, we are struggling to find any major faults with the Galaxy A34. It is an excellent device that deserves plenty of praise and a hearty recommendation.

Or, to be more precise, it behaves as you would expect any device with a spec sheet like the A34 to behave unless the manufacturer drops the ball on optimization, which Samsung seems to have done with the A54, making all that hype about its fancy new Exynos 1380 chip moot. If I were to dock points from the A34, it has to be for its rather outdated front-facing design and plastic-heavy build – the A54 wipes the floor with the A34 here thanks to its glass back and the more modern punch hole camera cutout. Speaking of cameras, the A54 has a better camera setup and capabilities. Apart from that, well, the Galaxy A34 is the clear winner of the award for the most well balanced mid-range phone from Samsung in 2023. The alternatives include last year’s Galaxy A53 and even the Galaxy S20 FE 5G, which is still available here in India and could be available in other markets as well. You will be paying a little more for these alternatives (unless you can get a deal like this), but you will still be saving money compared to the A54. The A53 and S20 FE won’t get as many OS upgrades as they have been on the market for a year and more, but that’s a sacrifice I would gladly make.

Having said that, at Rs 30,999, it ticks a lot of the correct boxes for someone who’s looking for a budget smartphone from a reputable and established brand that performs well, has a solid camera system, and has a great battery life. Value for money doesn’t necessarily mean the cheapest option out here. Therefore, all things considered, the Galaxy A34 is a device that screams value for money.

The Samsung Galaxy A34 5G was capable of achieving good results in static scenes without too much contrast, making it a good option for landscapes and portraiture. In these kinds of non-demanding conditions, still images offered good exposure and nice detail, but our experts also noticed some image noise in the shadow areas and in blue skies. The autofocus was reactive and accurate in most situations. Video clips recorded with the Galaxy A34 5G were exposed well, with low noise levels. Effective video stabilization ensured smooth footage. Image quality somewhat dropped in more difficult conditions, such as high-contrast scenes as well as under indoor lighting or in low light. Image detail was reduced while noise became more intrusive. Our testers also noticed some exposure and color instabilities across consecutive shots. Ghosting and fusion artifacts were visible in scenes with moving subjects.

The Samsung Galaxy A34 5G’s battery performance earned the device a global score that was above average in our database. During the autonomy tests, the Galaxy A34 5G showed excellent results when used in factory default mode. The battery lasted more than 2.5 days during our typical usage scenario, and the autonomy on the go, especially when using the GPS, was very good. When testing specific usages, the results were not as good, but the overall autonomy remain above average. The device struggled when streaming music. The charging time was longer than average, taking 1 hour and 42 minutes to fully charge the battery. The autonomy gained after a quick 5-minute charge was also below average with only 3 hours and 53 minutes recovered on average. Nevertheless, the charger’s residual power drain was very low when the device was fully charged and either plugged in or not. The charge efficiency was average. The discharge currents were quite low on the go and average when testing individual usages, meaning that the device is quite well optimized. When compared with other devices from the Advanced price segment, the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G ranked in the middle of our database, a huge improvement over its predecessor the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G, which ranked at the low end of the segment. The Galaxy A34 5G’s autonomy score was decent, but the charging and efficiency scores were slightly below the average.

And so, that leaves us with the conclusion. I do not have the price for this phone at the time of this recording, so I’ll leave all of the information in the description below when I have it. Obviously, I do think that the A34 has to be lower in price than the A54 but from what I’ve tested, I do think that the A34 is better than the A54. Yes, we’ll have a bigger camera notch but I can live with that. We have better battery life, better performance for gaming, and an arguably better matte finish for the back panel too. Other parts of these two phones remain pretty much identical and that makes me think that the A34 is better in terms of value when compared with the A54. Remember to check back later when we have the price because we’ll be updating the prices and holistically concluding our review of this phone.

I do have a problem with the design, though. That Infinity-V display is surrounded by uneven bezels, with the bottom bezel larger than the other sides. The rear is quite similar to the Galaxy S23, which I believe is nice if design consistency is your thing. But the front side of the phone is what you’ll spend most of your time looking at, and the Galaxy A34 5G looks too outdated in 2023. (Apologies for the lack of photos of the front of the phone in this hands-on; the weather was far from ideal when we captured these photos.). Again, I haven’t used the A34 5G for long so I can’t really offer any conclusive judgements right now. But it just feels like the more attractive proposition compared to the Galaxy A54 5G. The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G and A34 5G just launched and my hands-on review shows off the camera tech, OneUI 5.1 features and specs. The UK price starts from £349 for the Galaxy A34 5G and £449 for the Samsung A54 5G, with a release date of April 25 2023. That A34 5G uses Mediatek's Dimensity 1080 and the Samsung A54 5G has that Exynos 1380, which apparently offers a slight performance boost in early benchmarking. I'll be testing them in real life and with lots of gaming to see if it makes a difference! Both of these mid-range smartphones serve up a familiar S23 design, although the A34 is larger at 6.6-inches vs 6.4. The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G upgrades the back to Gorilla Glass 5, while both are water resistant. That camera tech is completely different, however. You get a larger sensor with bigger pixels on the Samsung A54, for improved low light photography. Whether this works, you'll have to wait for my full review to see! The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G may sport a smaller display but it's the same slick Super AMOLED tech with 120Hz refresh and 1000 nits brightness. You have a stereo speaker setup, microSD support and years of OS updates too.

Samsung has upgraded the Galaxy A34 in a few very important aspects this year. Its design now could easily be confused with the body language of its much more expensive siblings from the Galaxy S23 series as Samsung ditched the useless depth camera that was only there for the count and also disposed of the camera island. Its predecessor made one of the best photos from a phone at this price point, and Samsung wisely decided not to mess with the winning camera formula, leaving the sensors as they were. An alternative to the Galaxy A35 5G that you might also want to check out is the Pixel 7a, which also comes with an amazing main camera. What would be the better decision, however, is to wait for the Pixel 8a, which is expected to arrive sometime this May, so very soon. It will probably have similar performance and display quality, but might come with even better battery life and some Google AI features. Also, it's software is straight-up vanilla Android, which might be more up some people's alley. Another one you can check out that's freshly released is the Nothing Phone (2a), which comes with a display that is somehow even better thanks to its higher brightness and thinner bezels (although less durable). It also has the Mediatek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor which is built on the 4nm process and is—generally speaking—a more capable chipset. My advise is to not buy them at full retail price unless there are actually gifts that are useful to you, or wait for a discount as Samsung phones are perpetually going on sale anyway. Some of you also asked if the A35 can last for 4 years – and I think it can. Day-to-day usage is good, but it might not run the latest and greatest, highest-end games smoothly. Samsung has a track record of providing timely updates and combined with its software update policy, this phone is going to last for 4 years, if the phone is kept in good condition.

Performance-wise, the Exynos 1380 is a nice little step up from the Dimensity 1080 inside the Galaxy A34. It is perfectly adequate for the class and enough to offer a fluent One UI experience. That experience will be a big draw for a lot of people. Very few features are still relegated to Samsung's flagship models and outright missing from the Galaxy A35. Plus, the A35 comes with four years of major software updates and five years of security updates. That said, there is no point in claiming that the Galaxy A35 is the best in its class. Shopping around, you can get notably better hardware for your money. However, the Galaxy A35 remains attractive in its entirety as a package. We are sure it won't disappoint any prospective buyers.

The Samsung Galaxy A35 5G performed very well in our display tests thanks to its good AMOLED panel. While the display specs on the A35 5G were very similar to the slightly more expensive A55 5G, some performance differences could be attributed to software optimizations. However, the A35 5G managed to outperform the A55 5G in some attributes such as color, motion, and touch. In readability, the A35 5G was able to achieve a measured peak brightness of 1620 nits in sunlight conditions, which was higher than its competitors (even those in a higher segment), and admirably quite close to the 1638 nits measured on the A55 5G. However, with the High Brightness Mode activated under sunlight, the renderings on the A35 could appear somewhat unnatural.
