The Lenovo Thinkbook 15 ticks the majority of boxes needed for a notebook aimed at the SME market. It’s a good-looking machine that gets the job done, thanks to decent specs (including an SSD), great ports, an added number pad, Vantage software and full HD screen. That said, little niggles such as viewing angle concerns, battery life under eight hours, and a lack of lights on certain buttons, take away from the overall score.

Another year has passed, and Lenovo is improving their ThinkBook 15 quite well. Now, the processor they use is being used pretty well, and the cooling solution is able to maintain the higher 28W sustained power limit of the Core i7-1165G7. Interestingly, the graphics performance is extremely poor, considering the power of this GPU. And this is with all performance enhancements and the latest drivers.

So, Lenovo has done a good job in the main department – security. The ThinkBook 15 Gen 4 features a firmware TPM 2.0, as well as a privacy shutter, and a fingerprint reader. The Kensington Nano slot, on the other hand, will help you protect your device from theft. The build quality is also okay, but the base is a bit bendy. Probably because of the plastic body. Interestingly, the keyboard left us with mixed feelings. It has a backlight and it’s spill-resistant. However, the key travel is super short. This is exactly the opposite of what we’re used to seeing on ThinkPads, which is a huge argument against the ThinkBooks. At the end of the day, the ThinkPad E15 Gen 4 is a very similar product, that is better built, and in our opinion – is the better bang for the buck in the business world.
