Asus has gone all-out with the GX800. An obvious metaphor would be to call it a Hypercar of laptops: an expensive excess that evokes amusement and jealously in equal measure. In actual fact, it’s more like a monster truck: catastrophically powerful, comically large and ready to crush anything that gets in its path. I can’t wait to try the final version.

Born for 4K. Fans of high-resolution gaming are often faced with performance problems. Even the flagship model from Nvidia’s Maxwell generation, the GTX 980, struggles in 3840 x 2160. The situation is much better with the Pascal successor GTX 1080. This is confirmed by the Asus GX800, which is even powered by an SLI configuration.

If you have to ask how much the GX800VH is, the chances are you won't be able to afford it. Prices aren't clear yet, but in a world where the previous model featured a single GTX 980 and sets you back anything up to 5000 Euros, we can't imagine it will be any cheaper. It's hard to imagine that these systems find an audience when a dual Titan X Pascal desktop system would probably be cheaper, but all the major manufacturers have their own massively expensive flagships too. Clearly there is an audience.

Once all that sinks in, you’ll realize the value of the ASUS ROG GX800 is not with its performance but rather the flexibility you get in how you use it: even an ITX system with the same FPS horsepower will need at least twice the footprint the GX800 requires but with this one, you can just put at the side of your table and still have enough desk space to do other things without a monitor hampering your freedom.

Overall this is a powerful laptop and you can play high end games (name any game and it will play – Rise of Tomb Raider, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon to name a few) for 24/7 without any issues or lags, plus this is with a 4K screen. The Liquid cooling system is packed inside a suitcase and the laptop can be packed inside the laptop bag. Overall both are quite heavy. If you recall I did the review of Asus GX700 that also came with liquid cooling system and there everything was packed inside the suitcase.

After spending three weeks with ASUS’ latest monster, we can safely say that the ROG GX800 is better and faster than the previous generation. While externally there hasn’t been a lot of change, the insides of the notebook have been thoroughly revamped to give gamers with deep pockets the best performance possible. Sure, its Php 369,995 price tag is pretty ridiculous for a notebook, but the ROG GX800 is crazy enough that it actually deserves that price tag.

Két felsőházbeli GeForce GTX 980 kártya (nem 980M, ami 990M néven is ismert volt) SLI-ba kötve. Mikroakadások léphetnek fel az alacsonyabb FPS tartományokban. A video memória nem adódik össze, mivel a kártyákon található adat tükrözve van.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 SLI (Laptop):
Két GTX 1080 csúcsvideokártya SLI kombinációja. A játékteljesítmény függ az egyes játékok SLI profil támogatásától, így 0-90% közötti plusz teljesítményt nyerhetünk egy GTX 1080-hoz képest.

Négymagos notebook processzor Kaby Lake architektúrával, órajele 2.9 - 3.9 GHz. 2017 elején ez a második leggyorsabb fogyasztói H-szériás modell. A chip tartalmazza a HD Graphics 630 GPU-t is, amely 350 - 1100 MHz-en dolgozik. Fejlettebb (a Skylake-hez képest) 14 nm-es technológiával készült. A Core i7-7820HQ-val összehasonlítva a 7820HK-ból hiányoznak az olyan üzleti funkciók, mint a vPro vagy a TXT támogatás.
