You know, premium business notebooks are not a rarity these days. Pretty much every manufacturer out there has at least one offering in this segment. However, it is pretty hard to nail it. Well, ASUS is pretty close to doing it with its ExpertBook B9 (B9400). It is absolutely packed with features, spanning from the software-enhanced noise cancellation, located in the easy-to-use MyASUS app. From there, you can pick between three performance presets, delivering either the best out of the hardware or a completely silent operation. At the end of the day, ASUS has made a huge claim with this laptop. It has the performance, looks, and structural integrity to beat many premium laptops on the market. In fact, we think that the reason to pick another device, like the ThinkPad X1 Carbon 9th Gen, would be down only to personal preference.

It's super thin and light at just 0.59 inch thick and 2.2 pounds, but it still finds room inside to run a potent 11th Generation Intel Core i7 processor. The B9450CEA has an attractive grab-and-go design, more ports than you might expect, and good performance for its class, but we didn't see the extraordinary battery life we admired when testing the original B9450, and it's a bit pricey compared to some alternatives. The new ExpertBook is a solid contender with a full feature set, but we prefer the stellar Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon or a slick convertible like the Dell Latitude 9410 2-in-1 if we're going to spend this much on a luxe ultralight.

Therefore, all of its features need to be top notch in order to justify the price. Yeah, we got the nice keyboard, the portable and durable chassis, and even a sharp panel. But that won't make up for the short battery life and middling performance. Take a look at the HP Dragonfly. It's a little cheaper, has longer battery life, and a more vivid display. However, if you're really into the ExpertBook's style, it's not a bad purchase, but don't expect it to last longer than an average workday.

It is clear that it is not gaming, but it copes with work tasks easily and quickly, which is clearly proved by the tests I conducted. From myself I will say that it was very convenient to work or view content on it, and my wife liked to write her book on it. So I recommend this laptop to anyone who wants to work comfortably on a computer, wherever they are and whatever they do. I can say with confidence – ExpertBook B9 will be a reliable assistant. If I was looking for a comfortable laptop for work, I would definitely take ExpertBook B9 for three important reasons: it is lightweight, productive and stylish. I believe that a modern ultrabook should fulfil exactly these needs.
