Probably the biggest downside here is the lack of availability in some big territories, such as the US – but if you’re in one of the places where this sells, it’s well worth a look.

Then again, the phone comes with a 6,000 mAh battery and offers amazing battery life, and the overall aesthetics are also quite pleasing. At the end of the day, the price tag is the main drawback of this model. At 599 euros (just 100 down from the Ultra model), the sacrifices are too many to justify the cost. You can get a OnePlus 13R or wait for the upcoming Pixel 9a and probably get a better bang for your bucks.

There are some aspects that rubbed us the wrong way. The selfies aren't exactly wow-material. There is no wireless charging, and the lack of eSIM support will limit its use to frequent travelers. And you have to get an extra charger to get the speediest possible charging (at least in the EU). Still, the Poco F7 Pro packs a potent Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip that's hard to find elsewhere at this price point, even more than a year after its release.

In the end, I’m a bit torn with the Poco F7 Ultra. Yes, it’s Poco’s most powerful phone to date, and it has a strong spec sheet. But I don’t think it lives up to that promise of an ‘Ultra’ phone in the way Poco would like you to think. For one, its processor feels like it’s underclocked compared to other Snapdragon 8 Elite phones like the OnePlus 13 and Honor Magic 7 Pro. The 120W charging speeds don’t seem to refill the phone as quickly as it should, and the camera system is inconsistent, and not as strong as what you’d find in the more expensive ‘Ultra’ phones. That’s without mentioning the Wi-Fi connectivity issues I experienced during testing. Still, it delivers on the typical Poco benchmarks.

As for the camera tech, well, the Poco F7 Ultra has made some sacrifices there vs proper 'Ultra' smartphones. The zoom lens isn't as capable, while you can't shoot 4K video with the selfie camera. Still, most people should be happy enough with the Poco F7 Ultra's skills.

The POCO F7's camera setup is limited, especially vs the Ultra or the Nothing Phone 3a duo. No telephoto zoom, just a basic ultra-wide shooter, that's it. All the same, you'll get good looking photos in most conditions, especially if you take your time and grab a couple of snaps just in case.

Qualcomm Adreno 750: Grafikus chip okostelefonok és táblagépek számára, amely a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC-be van integrálva. A Qualcomm állítása szerint 25%-kal gyorsabb, mint a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-ben lévő Adreno 7340, és az első benchmarkok azt mutatják, hogy a GPU képes legyőzni a Apple A17 Pro iGPU-t.

Qualcomm Adreno 830: Integrált grafikus egység a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC-ben okostelefonok számára három, egyenként 1,1 GHz-es szelettel. Integrált 12 MB megosztott gyorsítótár a három szelethez. A Qualcomm szerint 40%-kal gyorsabb, mint az előző generáció (Adreno 750).

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8:

SD 8 Gen 3: A 2022 végén bemutatott, okostelefonokba szánt csúcskategóriás SoC egy gyors, akár 3,2 GHz-es órajelű ARM Cortex-X3 architektúrán alapuló elsődleges maggal. Két további teljesítményű mag az A715-ön alapul, és szintén csak 64 bites alkalmazásokat támogat. A két további A710-es mag szintén 32 bites alkalmazásokat támogat, akárcsak az energiatakarékos Cortex-A510-es magok. A processzormagokon kívül a SoC egy WiFi 7 modemet, egy Hexagon DSP-t (az AI gyorsításhoz) és egy Spectra ISP-t is integrál. Az integrált memóriavezérlő támogatja a gyors LPDDR5x memóriát, akár 4200 MHz-en. az 5G a Snapdragon X70 modemmel került a chipbe.

SD 8 Elite: High-end SoC (System on a Chip) okostelefonok számára, amelyet 2024 végén mutattak be. Két gyors, akár 4,32 GHz-es Oryon Gen 2 Prime magot és 6 kisebb, akár 3,53 GHz-es Oryon Gen 2 Performance magot integrál.
