A Galaxy Tab S9 FE tableten érződik a törődés, a Samsung egy alaposan átgondolt terméket helyezett le elénk az asztalra. Ugyan nem egy erőmű (különösen a csúcs táblagép trióhoz viszonyítva), de így is gyorsan és megbízhatóan működik, könnyű és intuitív a használata, és a külcsín is nagyon rendben van. Nincsenek benne hatalmas extrák, de kifejezetten jó érzés használni, emiatt pedig képes elhitetni az emberrel, hogy kell neki egy ilyen, akkor is, ha tulajdonképpen semmi szüksége nincs rá. Már csak az ár húzós egy kicsit, bár tény, hogy így is lényegesen olcsóbb, mint a Tab S9 széria csúcskategóriás darabjai. A menta, szürke és levendula árnyalatokban érkező, „költséghatékony” Galaxy tablet alapára ugyanis 210 ezer forint, az 5G-vel felszerelt változatért pedig 250 ezer forintot is elkérhetnek. A Samsung költséghatékonynak mondott táblagépe már-már a csúcskategóriás jelzőt is kiérdemelné, de szigorú leszek, és a felső-középkategóriába sorolom be.

One of the best reasons to get this tablet is that it’s a serious multitasking machine for not all that much cash. Like the more expensive Tab S9, this device can run three apps side-by-side thanks to Samsung’s robust multi-window feature. The mid-range processor isn’t as bulletproof in multi-window as a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, but it gets the job done. We’re more concerned with the mere 6GB of RAM in the base model. Samsung is fairly aggressive with memory management, so you may find that apps close in the background faster than they do on other devices. It does, however, support 5G if you opt for the cellular model. That’s an upgrade over the Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus, which, in the US at least, does not have a cellular option.

The tablet offers a sleek and slim design, a bright and sharp display, a smooth and intuitive user interface and a decent battery life. The tablet, however, also has some limitations. The display, although bright and sharp, is an LCD panel in a world of OLEDs, the tablet’s cameras are mediocre, and the device isn’t available in an LTE configuration. Face unlock has been an area of trouble for me with the Tab S9 FE, though you might or might not encounter an issue with it.

Viszont ha van is miért rajongani ebben a termékben, azt nem sokkal drágábban még jobb minőségben megkapja az ember a Samsungtól ha a tavalyi modellel is megelégszünk: a szintén 12,4 hüvelykes, de már AMOLED kijelzővel szerelt és jóval erősebb hardvert kínáló Galaxy Tab S8+ is elérhető a Tab S9 FE+ árszintjén. Ugyan az idei modellt nem vágták meg annyira funkciók terén, mint a 2021-es elődöt (Tab S7 FE), de hacsak nem élünk-halunk a 12,4”-es kijelzőért, az IP68-as védelemért, akkor ezen eszköz árának feléért kapunk egy hardveresen erősebb és az asztali módot leszámítva minden másban hasonlóan decens táblagépet, csak azt Xiaomi Pad 6-nak hívják. Vagy említhető a OnePlus Pad is értelmes alternatívaként, kétszázezer forint alatt van jelenleg erősebb hardverrel, töltővel és billentyűzetes tokkal, két olyan kiegészítővel, melyekért a Samsungnál extrát kell otthagyni. Igaz, ott tollat külön kell beszerezni.

I loved using the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ on a day to day basis, pouring hours into Hearthstone card battles, streaming YouTube while it was propped up with the Book Cover backing, and browsing the web. It’s a lavish-feeling tablet that impresses in a lot of ways, but when it can’t even perform to the level of an iPad that’s two years older and nearly half the price, it’s hard to make sense of the $599 price tag. On the other hand, the epic battery life and bundled S Pen stylus might help make up for the lack of raw power, especially for people who don’t play a lot of games. Even so, it’s tough to justify the $599 price point—and I have real concerns about the ability for this low-powered tablet to keep pace as future Android updates are released. It might be more appealing if on sale, or the slightly smaller Galaxy Tab S9 FE could provide a better balance of power and price at $449.

Remember, this is the cheaper version of the Galaxy Tab S9+. For the price you’re paying, you’re getting a tablet that does it all, and it does it all well. If you’re not willing to pay $999 for the Galaxy Tab S9+, you won’t be sorry getting the FE edition. I highly recommend that you pick up this tablet.

There are definite perks to each, and I still use my iPad just as much as I use the S9 FE+, so deciding between the two is probably going to be more of a personal preference. There are probably some good reasons to choose one over the other, but at the end of the day, it comes down to price, functionality, and convenience. If you’re looking for a cheaper tablet that is great for most users, Samsung generally offers a slightly lower price point for a pretty great product. If you’re looking for an Apple-specific functionality, or it’s important for you that your devices connect easily within the Apple ecosystem (like via iCloud), then you should probably stick with an iPad. Anyway, back to the price. I think generally, the price of this tablet is too high. Yeah, it’s a great tablet for what it sets out to do but for a mid-range tablet, it’s just too expensive. I think for the price of this tablet – it should be using an AMOLED screen instead. That would make the price justifiable. At the current state, I think the best time to get this tablet is during a discount. It’s still new so there aren’t any major discounts yet so be a little patient. Maybe during the 12.12 promotion is the time when Samsung will offer some discounts? I surely hope so.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus looks great and is definitely well-built, but the compromises the brand made to get it to this price point has made it difficult to recommend. While most people likely won’t care that much about the rear camera quality on a tablet, the flaws in its software are something that can’t be ignored. This could potentially be improved with future updates, but of course, you should only buy a product based on how it performs as it ships. Additionally, the substandard display panel and infuriatingly weak magnets for the S Pen are a constant reminder that this device is Samsung’s economic offering of sorts. And with a starting price of RM2,799 for the Wi-Fi only model, it’s not exactly in the affordable category either. My two cents: you’re likely better off getting a more powerful tablet at a similar price point or coughing up a bit more for an iPad.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ offers a good deal more extra features than the previous Galaxy Tab S FE tablet but it’s a bit hard to justify the increase in price to RM3099, especially without any bundled keyboard case. At this price point, it’s already reaching entry-level laptop prices, and getting an additional Book Cover Keyboard case would be an extra RM500. If you need the extra security and the protection of an IP68 tablet and S Pen, then this is a very good tablet for you though. But, we would have liked it more for productivity if it came bundled with the Book Cover Keyboard case. However, if you’re still using the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE, we feel then there’s not much reason for you to upgrade.

In a vacuum, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablets are interesting options for those looking for a premium device at an affordable price. Both models offer a nice design and excellent build quality, include the handy S Pen, productivity features, and are excellent media consumption devices. However, while they are roughly in the same price category as the iPad 10 and the Pixel Tablet, their performance in more demanding tasks is noticeably lower. That difference can be especially noticed in graphic-intensive games, where image quality needs to be lowered significantly to offer playable frame rates. The Galaxy Tab S9 FE generation brings welcome upgrades over the previous Tab S7 FE (12.4-inch) and Tab S6 Lite (10.4-inch), with better displays, water resistance, and improved battery life. But even considering that, it is hard to recommend the 2023 Fan Edition models over the competition, unless you are truly invested in Samsung's ecosystem. In short, the review title may have already given away this conclusion.

If you’re not willing to pay $999 for the Galaxy Tab S9+, you won’t be sorry getting the FE edition. I highly recommend that you pick up this tablet.

The Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus also suffers from compatibility issues with Android 13, which can cause some software-related problems. The Samsung DeX interface can also be challenging to use despite its improvements. Despite the drawbacks mentioned above, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus is still a fantastic choice for anyone looking for an Android-based tablet, particularly a larger one from Samsung.
