A HP ProBook 440 G4 nagyon hasonlít testvéreire, előnyeiben és hátrányaiban egyaránt. Ez egy belépő szintű üzleti gép, tehát bizonyos kompromisszumokkal együtt kell élnünk. Ide értve a SmartCard olvasó, vagy éppen a dokkoló hiányát. A ProBook ház minőség, és a csatlakozókiosztás tekintetében is elmarad a drágább eszközök mögött, még a HP saját EliteBook-jai mögött is.

A ProBook 440 G4 legnagyobb hiányossága a kijelző. A teszt modellünk az ehhez a rendszerhez elérhető "legjobb" képernyőt kapta, de így is csalódtunk. Érthetetlen, hogy a HP miért nem kínál IPS panelt a választhatók között, és egyébként TN panelből is teszteltünk már jobbakat. 

A HP ProBook 440 G4 gyors, jó házat és kényelmes billentyűzetet kínál, de a kijelzője miatt indokolatlannak tűnik az 1000 euró (~$1074) feletti ár.

A frissített ProBook 440 G4 teljesítményére nem lehet panasz, mert a rendszer sok alkalmazást tud kezelni, hála gyors processzorának, és az SSD-nek. Az, hogy a dedikált GPU-t mennyire lehet kihasználni, már más kérdés. Nyilvánvalóan erősebb az integrált chipnél, de ezt leginkább akkor veszi észre az ember, ha játszik. Amennyiben spórolni akarunk, nyugodtan választhatunk ehelyett egy Core i5-ös processzort és integrált grafikus chipet tartalmazó változatot. A kiábrándító kijelző miatt továbbra sem mindenkinek javasolnánk szívesen a ProBook 14 inches verzióját.
